Yeah, lets just watch Tendulkar bat until he gets his hundred, whether he is out three times or not. That is so much better for the game of cricket. The funny thing is this, Dravid edged that, and he knows it and he is gone. Great effort by technology
We can not have guys like Tendulkar batting away, getting out time after time and yet nearly making a century. What happened today is miles fairer than that.
Keep the technology going, that is my opinion.

snicko clearly shows the ball hit bat, as do slow motion replays.... also dravid looks quickly behind him to see if the keeper catches it.
I think initially the drs came into the game to eliminate the HOWLERS from the game, that wasnt an howler either way.... correct decision in the end in my opinion.

Well if you want to go on about previous tests..have a look at how many times Sachn has ben givenout when clearly is not!!..
----
Why are you not screaming out for technology then?
Dravid knew as soon as the ball flew past his bat that he was out today. Look at the slow motion replays of him, not his bat.
I would rather have incidents like this than watching players survive who are clearly out, often plumb LBW.
Why are we bickering about this today? Dravid was out, the technology corrected a bad umpire decision, and I love it.
neon, what are you talking about? The technology has picked up the sound of Dravid edging the ball to the keeper? Stop crying and accept the fact that was an excellent result for technology. Dravid hates getting out, and looked gutted the second he edged that.

Afridi..not sure how much cricket you watch, butalot of batsmen watch the ball to the kepper, incase there maybe a run on..especialy in the 1 day format

He almost got whip lash trying to see if Kieswetter was going to spill his edge
Half way mark and India are setting no kind of total as yet. Oh dear oh dear :p
yes they watch it, but they dont turn around in fear all to often.

so neon reckons when a batsmen leave the ball in one day cricket, he watches it all the way back to the keeper..... what a numpty!!! no they dont, or at least the indian players that have left the last 4 balls havent done that...... grow up kiddo

neon , the only reason they dont use snicko is it takes a few minutes to synchronise the sound file with the video and that is too long to be used as part of udrs
its got absolutely nothing to do with extraneous noises
neon, getting a cheap wicket, which I do not accept this is, is far better than watching a top class batsmen get away with his wicket, 3 or 4 times during an innings, and then goes on to score a century? You quote Botham. I could cut and paste many ex pros talking on skysports, sportinglife and the BBC who say he is out.

Couldn't agree with you more neon1001uk, many many times batsman look behind them to see if there are runs to be had from misfields or perhaps habit.
Many times you hear commentators (previous players) say you can never judge if a batsman is out because he looks behind him.
The idea that sound is technonlgy is rubbish it is just a microphone at the batsman stumps which we have had for years, which was never used before UDRS to see if a batsman was in or out because they knew and still know it isn't a good way to tell if a batsman's out, untill now it seems.
neon and FOURTHREE. A question for you, and no wumming please. Which situation is worse?
Dravid being given out caught behind today or a batsman ( Tendulkar is just one of many examples) who is clearly out several times and is not sent back to the pavilion during a single innings? Which do you prefer?

Let's ignore technology
