Hmm... a lot of his "goals" are headers.

It did look like he was doing it deliberately too.

It's fine with me, incidentally. I'm with Ohso.

Are you?

It seems you are the only one that ever questions headers meaning anything.

Unless this is just another of your sad pathetic little wums after a throw away comment by a poster, but it couldn't be something that tedious and infantile surely, not from a grown man

I can't remember who it was now, but there was a self-proclaimed expert on here who argued against headed goals. It's one of those things that is so surprising to hear that it sticks with you.

In all honesty Bute after the other night i have a little sympathy for you, it was quite clear you have a wee problem which obviously exacerbates when envy is thrown into the mix.

No idea why you obsess over me and Wolfie as much as you do, though envy is the obvious issue, its one of the easiest psychological traits to recognise in fact, always try to score points or attempt to ridicule those you envy. Denied a chance to live in the USA perhaps?

If i could private message you i would, to give you some support, I hope all is well though, take it easy fella and just live for each new day

Definition of a goal.
According to the International Football Association, a goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, between the goalposts and under the cross bar. The outside of the goal is determined by the outermost edge of the goal posts and cross bar. If the ball does not fully cross the plane created by these three bars, a goal is not awarded.
It says nothing about which part of a footballer it touched before crossing of said plane/goal ergo wether it be head boot ar$e or elbow it's a GGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Agreed Ohso

Strange conversation in all honesty.

Been off for ages, getting bored again now though, saw a job counting hawks for migration the other day, gonna go have a chat but it is very time consuming for three months and you barely get paid.

I found some of that "throw away comment". (I've précised it down a bit)...

"Heading the ball became a skill for the less technically gifted sides as a way to combat being outplayed on the pitch.
Heading a ball is linked to the term HHOOOOOFFFFFF!!!

If Spain played the Dog and Duck what is the most likely chance for the Dog and Duck to penetrate the Spanish penalty box?
I would go out on a limb and say a dead ball situation.

Heading is definitely a skill Ace, wouldn't doubt that, but crosses are also a great leveler in any game.

Like i said, the only chance the Dog and Duck would have of scoring against Spain would be from a dead ball into the box.

Poorer teams can win games some times thanks to a good corner or free kick regardless of whether they have been outplayed or not.
You are ruling out the idea that their best chance is from balls into the box.

I like it when goalkeepers go up for headers in desperation times, dudes with zero experience heading a ball in the opposition area but then score, awesome stuff, schmeichel scored one I remember.
Goes to show, the great leveler in football, the ball into the box, anyone can become a hero then.

Just an opinion here, but I would suggest that heading ability is just a small part of whether you actually score from a ball into the box, and positioning, slack marking, accuracy of ball or indeed just sheer luck as to where the ball will end up all plays a part.

You could be the best header of the ball in history, but if that ball isn't good enough you are gonna struggle to score.
A header can't be scored without someone else's help

Read something about kids here not being allowed to head the ball under the age of ten.
Not sure whether it is enforced but wouldn't complain, teach them the technical stuff first."

The guy's changed his name since posting that wee comment, but his conviction did resonate with me, and I've looked at headed goals differently ever since.

Seems to me that this fella was saying that headers or more accurately crosses into the box are a great leveler in the game.

Probably why we hear commentators often say things in cup games like 'Kettering will have to make these dead ball situations count today'.

Don't see a single part that says a headed goal should count for less?!?!

Anyway, i meant what i said, look after yourself and seek help

Wish I had stayed down south for the weekend. Not a cloud in the sky when I left. Would be on the beach now with a beer.

Hopefully Wolves will make it worth it tomorrow.

Gonna win tomorrow, it won't be pretty but we will take the 3 points.

That's a relief.

I won't predict now though. I will wait until 5pm tomorrow when we will have a better idea.
