The revolution is continuing apace. Some may think it's slow, but we're signing quality players at a faster rate than anyone since Mick, and before that, Taylor, and earlier, Barnwell.

I predict a fantastic season. Because it has been long coming, and I feel it in my water, just as I have in all previous fantastic seasons - going back to Samuel Chung. Top man I was lucky to meet at. Stafford Rangers Dinner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You may have met him, Bute, but his first name wasn't Samuel, it was Cyril.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I assumed it was Samuel! He was at a neighbouring table with Mick Mills. They were working at Ipswich I think. Some years ago now, but Chung gave us a great season. We won the division, finishing above 2nd placed Chelsea. We played them in the last match at Molineux, so both sides were celebrating. .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mills's first name wasn't Mick, it was Mrs.

Exciting times again anyway, though caution is needed as last time we had an exciting start like this was under Kenny Jackett.

Jackettt incidently spoke out today over his sacking, quite dignified as you would expect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He came out with a script that offended no one, and perfectly reflected why he was such a perfect yes-man, making no (zero) waves. If we had a poll now, how many would want him back? The thought of that being a possibility is enough to make you shudder.

He will get another club soon enough and lead them to a nice comfortable, boring existence.

Ok, elocution time again after the Lopetegui saga, how are tackling Oniangue?

Onion gay?
Onion gee?
On yan gee?
On yang?

Plenty to conjure with.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Discussed with a French speaking colleague, they said o-nee-an-gway with gway being pronounced the same as gay but with a w in it.

However I can see the South Bank going for Prince Onion.

I always do really well with having a "gut feeling". I do think Zenga and Wolves, with Fosun, are a perfect fit. Yes, it's early days, but things are happening, and it all seems to be from the same hymn sheet!

Pretty sure he will be simply called Prince.

Do you think the will give him Price's shirt with a n added in black ink marker. It might be a bit tight given he is 6' 3".

If anyone thinks Zenga would have done well with the squad Jackett had last season they are kidding themselves. Take away Bodvarsson and replace him with Siggy, take away Teixeira and replace him with kmac and it would all have been very similar. We may well have still had 35% possession, but we would have done next to nothing in the final third with no centre forward, just like last season

Don't think anyone has said that.

We needed new additions if we wanted to be genuine contenders, as it stood a new manager might have got that old squad to the 70 odd point mark though as we did have Afobe at one point who we could have used far better than we did last season, he still wanted to score goals.

Our biggest issue was just too many similar midfielders with little spark and a manager afraid to make a positive change when behind.

He'd at least have made changes during matches to win points. Of course we won't know that for sure - we'll never know, but it's a fair assumption, given his style.

Im sure Jackett was under instruction to keep us in the division at all costs pending the takeover. Not much else could account for his ultra safe approach.

Some fans want more than just the assurance of safety. If that's enough for you, support Barnsley. You'll be ecstatic.

I think we are in agreement

My point was that if he was doing what he was told to do, keep us in the division, why didn't he change styles once safety was secured?

Because he didn't have a scooby what to do with HIS players.

Is Zenga the messiah after three games now?

I remember when Jackett was the messiah just over a year ago.

Long way to go Tam, one good performance basically as the other two were very hit and miss.

Earlier i likened it to the begining of Kennys reign, winning the fans approval and uniting the club, he managed to keep us sweet for two years but we know how that ended.

Zenga has started well enough and has plenty of charisma which will buy him some time but its a results business.
