And my point about the defensive players ahead is the myth that said defensive players were actually providing any sort of protection for the defence. That only really happened in the first couple of months of the season. Then we got an injury every game and couldn't field a midfield for more than one game and it remained porous for the remainder of the season.

Also nobody has said these two are solely responsible for the goals conceded anyway.

But watching these players perform it's quite easy to come to the conclusion that they're comfortably better than that clown Sakho.

Those defenders like Smalling are championship standard. I have seen them at Anfield in the EL game and they were awful. I have seen them in the last game against West Ham and they were bullied for 90 minutes.

Rio, Vidic Stam were worldclass defenders.

Are you being deliberately thick? I didn't say Man United playing with dm's was a myth. I said it was a myth that the defensive players ahead, not always dm's and not all season might I add, were providing actual protection to the defence.

Trying to credit our defensive record to the midfield doesn't really wash if you actually watch us play. It's been one of our weakest areas.

Sakho is a decent player, not a world beater but good enough. He was playing well under Klopp and figures regularly for the French national side.

He not close the the worst in the league. Sadly he's not even the worst in our defence.

hes woeful, absolute calamity who was said to have "good form" coz he cleared a chance or two of the line in one of your european matches and made a sliding tackle. Abosolute shocker of a player and I have been fairly consistent of my criticism of him as a player. Him and Mikel are the worst players in the league
