old song to sing

Every day we're all gonna say we love you Leeds, Leeds, Leeds
Everywhere we're gonna be there we love you Leeds, Leeds, Leeds
MOT!!
We're gonna see you win,
we are so proud, we SHOUT it out loud we love you LEEDS,LEEDS,LEEDS
We've been through it altogether, and we've had our ups and downs (UPS AND DOWNS)
We're gonna stay with you forever, at least until the world stops going round.........

As far as i'm aware the world is still going round and at no point does it mention 'at least until the chairman stops showing ambition'. Now maybe that is because it wouldn't fit into the song, but i will continue to support the team and indirectly Bates because i love watching Leeds. So if you can't support the team with the ££££'s at least support them with your voice, presence and passion.

Sir Kenneth
I'm disappointed you could only be bothered to give us a potted version. If you are going to do something, do it right, I say.

Sorry Eddie, i though that proportion of our club anthem was enough to get my point across.

Course it was mate, but I like singing songs from the top!
'Here we go with Leeds United' etc ... fair gets the hairs standing up on the back of my neck.... but I'm a silly old shirt front anyway, so take no notice of me, especially when I've had a few pots.

Eddie (The Last Waltz) Gray

I actually think you post a fair bit of sense and on occasions a deft amount of whimsy, in amongst your 'potted' comments!

hey, Eddie (The Last Waltz) Gray

you have just been honoured

only having a laugh, jesus.
I will support the club, I love LUFC but seriously isn't Bates killing us? No contract offers until it is too late, sells our some of our best players, and is more interested in his hotels and executive boxes than he is with the team. It just shows a lack of ambition and I fear at the next home game there will be a backlash from the fans over deadline day

Just offering an alternative. In all seriousness though if we start badly v Palace in probably the 1st league match that we will be odds on favourites to win, then the crowd will certainly react with even more hatred towards Bates. Losing Gradel was not just an issue because we have lost a quality player, but also the impact that it will have on squad morale. We were already facing an uphill task trying to achieve a top 6 target without selling one of our best players.

I agree the fans have a right to be angry because with our ticket prices there should at least be intent shown to improve. Although the reality is that some clubs cannot compete financially. Everton another big club finished 7th last year like us, and the reward as with us was nothing. Therefore there fans will have hoped to see the club recruit better players in an attempt to reach europe. Instead they've lost average players like Beckford and Yakubu, and a key player in Arteta (sounds familiar). We just have to hope our existing top players are kept on long term and develop to see us promoted.

It is an old Romany term of endearment apparently!

Trust Ken Bates to try and dampen down the occasion eh?

Sir Kenneth Bates OUT!!

Cheers Eric!
I post less and less these days as I seldom have a positive contribution to make. Inexpliicably though, I will still go home and away, I am actually looking forward already to the Palace game, at 54 years old, is it senility do you think?

Same age as me sunshine, thankfully we've seen great days.

The yobs amongst us shouldn't have smashed up his shiny new electronic scoreboard at Stamford Bridge just because we were losing 4-0, way back whenever it was ... .. then started chanting "Chelsea, Chelsea, what's the score" ..

I'll always have this nagging suspicion that his vow that day to "destroy Leeds United" wasn't just a spur-of-the-moment thing ..

740 miles to Ell and Back

Aah but way back then, he hadn't tasted fish and chips out of paper at Graveley's!

He has now, he's addicted!

He has even crossed out Bermondsey on his birth certificate and written Middleton in in crayon!

Ken Bates by virtue of his frugal attitude where money matters are concerned is a true Yorkshireman!
