It is not always the fault of the individual that they find themselves living beyond their means.
5 years ago my wife was made redundant and has since suffered from ill health. Without her income we struggle. I gave up smoking and going out to keep the wolves from the door.
Next year, my mortgage will be paid. Then I can have the new car and some other luxuries. Until then I have a 13 yr old car and a 2 generation old phone.

Have you thought about contacting your local benefits office to tell them of your plight?
Marriage and kids seems too expensive tbh

Apparently not...
You can also watch tv without £50+ a month for Sky
Can watch all tv for free as long as you can afford broadband

You can also stop spending £250 a month on cigs if you're really struggling
I don't know why or how anyone debates otherwise...

Actually, you may have meant that as a bit of a jibe but there are plenty of people on benefits that have better cars and phones than I do AND they get to go on nice holidays every year.
I'd rather own my house, and have hundreds of pounds extra in my pocket per month when the mortgage is paid.

It was a joke, as opposed to a jibe
And, yes, I agree. My car is 9 years old, the only thing I owe money on is my mortgage and I save money every month. I'm not well paid, but careful...
Anyway. Laters all.
Hope you all have good weekends
You can ram-raid a bank if you're really struggling too
Some people would rather smoke than eat though. Only themselves to blame.

My mother-in-law's neighbours (two chronically overweight sisters) said that it was ok for them to live off the state (and bloody moan about it) as their father had worked his entire life. Go figure.
Anyway long story short, in the end one of them lost a load of weight and got a job. Fair play to her. Her sister died as a direct result of her 'lifestyle choice'.
Wouldnt try that in Saudi Arabia Sizz
