And before anyone doubting....I am happy with Vardy but it is so unreal and un-Wenger signing I must admit.
Xhaka pinging long balls up to Vardy, whilst we sit deep and at last learn how to defend, especially at set pieces.
Wenger's had a dream.

He'll be running onto ozil through balls instead of long balls, we played more counter attack when Walcott was up front and created more, only difference is vardy can finish and has that hunger to score goals that Theo doesn't
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. Leicester long ball might be due to the fact that they don't have our midfield and can't build up play.
Nothing suggest that Vardy can't adapt to shorter but more precise passes
However much possession a team have counter attacks can be devastating. So many here seemily do not understand this.
Oh my days, quite possibly the most overhyped player in history.
Last year it was Austin and prior to that ings and Lambert.
There is a reason these guys spend most of their careers in the lower leagues.
Don't do it. He is not what arsenal needs and he will flop. It is clear now that Wenger is losing it.

Sky reporting tonight that Manchester United passed up the opportunity to trigger the release clause
Liverpool are apparently not interested - Arsenal have not triggered the clause yet but want to discuss the situation with Leicester
Vardy only last month said he is happy to stay at Leicester who are expected to offer an increase to his 80k wages
Is this Suarez all over again and is Wenger being played by vardys agents?

If it were SAF buying him everyone would be saying he, s a genius.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal don't play anything like safs sides did. He would fit right in to a Ferguson set up. Direct, fast attacking football with balls coming in from the midfield and wide positions - not pinging it around the D for half an hour while giroud falls asleep waiting for the ball
For the BBC reported £20m I wouldn't be that unhappy. Not going to get a top striker for that money, and his wages won't be extortionate. Knows the prem, has pace and can press well. As mentioned above with Walcott/Welbeck up top we've played on the counter and been excellent at times this season, so maybe that's the blueprint we're going for but with a better finisher. Especially with Xhaka, too.
All a bit weird though, and it might well just be noises from his agent.
At least we will get some game time out of him,get rid of the sicknote brigade.

Fast and know where the back of the net is, that's all we need. We have other players to do the fancy work. All Vardy has to do is get to the through balls and put them away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does he know where the back of the net is?
50 professional goals suggests he doesn't but for one purple patch early this season.
would be an awful signing, never gonna happen.
Why would he be perfect signing for arsenal style wise. If anything it will be an awful signing as he needs space to expose high defences. Teams don't play like that against arsenal who pack the defence.

Our away games are perfect for vardy.
I like the guy as a player and on form he'd be an improvement on Giroud but that doesn't mean we should sign him.
He'd offer us much better movement than the French donkey but so would a cabbage in the wind... we can do better.
Why aren't we chasing Mahrez ffs.
I cannot stress enough how much I don't want Vardy at Arsenal Football Club. This is massively underwhelming. I'm hoping that it's some sort of sick joke or something.
20 odd million on a 29 year old who has had one good season and who's entire game is based on pace and aggressive running. This has all the makings of an absolute shocker.

@Leicester fans
Totally neutral on this, but something doesn't add up.
You spent a lot of the run in last season countering accusations of bus-parking tactics by claiming that you had played very different football in the first half of the season.
What was this different football, and how come it was precisely back then that Vardy had his record-breaking goalscoring spell, when judging by comments from Leicester fans on this thread, he's basically a one-dimensional pace merchant?

This is the type of signing liverpool or spurs would make - do we want to turn into Liverpool or Spurs?
Can't remember the last time liverpool or spurs signed the main striker of last season's champions.
He's not my first choice, nowhere near. But people are acting are turning their nose up at him, when really for 20 million it's not a huge gamble. I will be disappointed if he's our main striker signing though.
