Best all round if he stays.

Suits how Leicester play under Ranieri, wouldn't be a good fit at Arsenal, and surely he would want to play for City in the Champions League next season - why go anywhere? (The answer to that, obviously, is money).

Not sure you're right ace face. The deal was signed in Feb but it was negotiated long before that. At the time we still weren't expected to win the league and now as a premier league champion, his agent has seen the opportunity to get an increase in wages
What's the best way to do that? To get another club to activate his release clause and get Leicester to counter offer with £100k a year on a 4 year contract
We've seen it happen before. I'm not saying he won't go because Leicester might decide that at 29 he's not worth £100k+ and let him move. After all the release clause was negotiated with and sanctioned by the club so they would have been expecting this.
Ahmed musa is on our radar and if we got him plus another couple of exceptional signings then I wouldn't expect other players to follow suit....

-----------------------------------
You really think players would turn down Arsenal for Leicester?!
If there wasn't a release clause, I'd say Leicester would hold on to him by demanding a crazy fee, but that was the point of the clause, to faciliate exactly this type of move.

No the point of the clause is to facilitate a better wage deal for Jamie Vardy. The agent doesn't care which club that's at....so of course it's down to the player IF Leicester choose to counter arsenals offer
Given that Vardy came out in the press last month and said he had no interest in moving, it would make him look like a total C if he now did so. I'm not saying he won't.....but it's contrary to a lot of noise he has been making about staying at the club. Noises van persie never made about staying at Arsenal.
I believe there is a strong chance that Vardy wants a better deal from Leicester. He's guaranteed to play every game - moving to Arsenal carries a risk. He may not suit their style of play and if he drops to the bench them his England career is over
Lots more to consider than just Arsenal being a bigger cluv

Not the best way to do it IMO. Antagonises Leicester and unsettles the player. Would've been better coming to Leicester direct to renegotiate rather than using what is a pretty transparent and amateurish manipulation tactic. Also not sure if it matter if the contract was 3 months in the making - until pen is put to paper it is worthless and he only signed it in Feb. He could've stalled or renegotiated then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In February he wasn't a premier league winner. We didn't even know if we could hold on for top 4 back then do the grounds have changed.
The release clause was sanctioned by Leicester - they will have been expecting his agent to alert clubs on what it is - that's football. All the agent wants to do is get the best wage deal for the player and you can't do that as effectively without another offer on the table.

Actually I'd say all the agent wants to do is bleed as much money from his players as possible. He does that by taking a slice of transfer fees; probably better for Vardy's agent that he signs for another club, especially at 29 as the window of opportunity is closing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
An agent doesn't just get his slice from transfer fees - contract negotiations with existing clubs are also an important earner for them
Unless you're suggesting that Vardys agents got nothing from the deal that was signed with Leicester in Feb?

You would wager that based on what ace face?
Have you got anything to actually back that statement up? Because we see a heck of a lot of agents drumming up interest from other clubs, including getting bids on the table, when the intent all along was to get a new improved contract from the existing club

Ace is right, an agent gets a percentage from a transfer fee - the higher the fee the higher the cut they take.
A renegotiated contract isn't as profitable for an agent as a transfer fee and signing on fee. The same for a player, get paid a lump sum from the transfer fee and also a signing on bonus from the new club signed to.
If his agent is hawking him around then he's on the move, silly decision imo but then we always knew footballers aren't exactly the brightest bunch.
This had better be a whined up. We don't need this one dimensional UTD reject. To fit him in the team we'll have to play route one football. wtf?
