I would have thought with the Ozil assist machine in place, Vardy can't fail right, he has to be a massive success is that not true?
I hope we don't sign Vardy he would be the wrong fit
Yes I think so but I guarantee Wenger won't stick with Vardy all year round regardless of form.
Vardy basically ends our possession based philosophy Wenger will never let that go.
When Wenger has gone big (Alexis/Ozil) he's played them weekly regardless of form, they walk into the side as Wenger wants full value for money and respects their status'.
Vardy doesn't command that type of respect from Arsene despite his achievements last year. Wenger is scared of making Giroud 2nd choice once and for all.
Though I'd disagree you actually could make a slight case as to whether Vardy is even better than Giroud all round. He's only had 1 better season in truth (a season Giroud could never match in English football)

He'd be the right fit if we're ready to completely switch into a counter-attacking outfit (where Wenger has found his most success), this style suits Ozil & Alexis much more as proven last season but the fact that we won't commit to that change is why I don't want him.
My desire is for Giroud to be completely relegated into an impact player rather sharing the main role with another.
We need a clinical all rounder. Like Higuain/Aubamayng who can offer more on the ball but also give us a counter-attacking option.
Don't worry about the logistics, let Wenger worry about that. We should celebrate the fact that we have added more quality to the team.

10 years of underachievement gives me a good reason to worry about logistics. I was quite please about Welbeck when he signed too, not as good as Vardy but it seemed like necessary qualities were added, yet it changed nothing.
Our striker needs to be Alexis/Ozil level signing, 4 years of Giroud certainly means we deserve it.
My only worry is Vardy might be a 1 season wonder in the Premier league, he hardly has a premier league track record.
This is where Wenger really gets to me, know friggin strategy, can't bring 1 player through our own system that can bang in the goals, I guess he thought that might happen with Theo. Oh, we did have Harry Kane up until 11.
Anyway, I'd welcome Vardy but I'd give no credit to Wenger, maybe the fans that have put this pressure on Arsenal to spend this time around so that's where the credit is, still relatively a cheap player in Wengers tradition. It really seems to me Wenger is rolling the dice 1 last time and like Fergie buying a 29 year old Van Persie, I don't see Wenger will be around to much longer, not his style to invest like this in a 29 year old.
Folks just love to complain. Carry on!

Such a paranoid pathetic response who said anything about wenger taking credit. You have set up your own little universe where wenger is to blame for all ills, and you are indoctrinated to the extent that you are even pre empting potential praise of any kind. Fan pressure
yes its because of the little plastic signs telling wenger to leave that we will succeed. Even though the signs are calling for something that hasn't happened. Moron logic
Of course you were coming along, could smell you're little rat trail a mile away hahaha
Wenger has never signed a top class centre forward for the club. He's made a few world class centre forwards but never spent money on one and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon
Theo didn't get dropped for Giroud last season, he was the solid first choice until he got injured, just like every other season. Then when he came back he was crap. Vardy doesn't get injured so if we're doing well with him up front Wenger wouldn't change that just because he supposedly loves Giroud.
I mean do you even pay attention to what happens or do you just invent (eheh, now your name makes sense) stuff to fit your paranoid little view of the world?
I agree there are better strikers than Vardy that we could sign but he is at least better than Sturridge

This is true. Essentially at the start kf the season and the end Giroud was playing backup to Walcott or Welbeck, but we just can't seem to keep either fit
"Vardy doesn't get injured"
This is Arsenal, a long term injury is probably part of the contract
You just know he will agree to the Arsenal deal this week and sign the papers etc, before getting injured against Russia and being out for the first 6 months of the season.
Yeah Vardy might suit us more but Giroud is still a better player. My feeling is if vardy comes so will a potent wide man. If that's the case I'll be pleased but slightly underwhelmed at the moment.
No wonder GT is celebrating the news, give it till December Giroud will be leading the line either besides Vardy or instead of him (bookmark).
Leave me out this you clown.
Even if we sign Vardy, he will shafted to the flanks for sure
If a young player had just had a season like Vardy's we'd still be unsure of the transfer as it's so far a one off.
The fact Vardy is in his late 20s should ring serious alarm bells.
All that said the qualities he showed last season are exactly what we need. Movement, finishing, hardwork and speed - most of which Giroud is awful at.
Vardy could work out nicely for a season or two but I'd rather spend more on a younger better player with similar attributes.
I think Vardy will be Wengers replacement for the injured Welbeck and his legs/workrate on the left hand side of Giroud. Whilst also being a good option as the main striker should Giroud have a run of bad form or get injured.

Hope you're right. There are plenty of better strikers we can sign. Stats can only tell half the story - if we were going by stats last summer then we wouldn't have even considered Vardy
What the Fek you lot want then? I asked someone yesterday on other thread, name me 3 striker which we can buy better than Vardy? no one answered ! feking deluded people.
Who is available? Lukaku is fekin inconsistent, Higuain is unproven in PL and crazy price tag for his age. Morata is avg, honestly, don't think so he is world class to carry us on his shoulder.
Who is left? name me fekin striker. Benzema is overrated, end of.
Vardy is def improve us, no matter he is stop gap, short term solution. He is a late bloomer and will keep going good atleast for another 2-3 seasons (if he stays fit). Get a grip guys, don't moan just for sake of slating club not signing a striker.
