Dier and Alli have come from lower and weaker leagues and equiped themselves much better than many others...Dier having made a couple dozen appearances for Sporting.
Alli having never played above League 1 level.
Even Kane's record before breaking into our team is pretty unimpressive...something like 20 goals in 65 games while on loan to the lower leagues - Orient, Milwall etc
Janssen looks sharp enough in his YouTube videos, as someone has already commented he scores similar goals to Kane. If he does come to us & replicates this I for one would be very happy.
Is this dude actually a spurs fan or an under-par wum?
Poor article regardless IMO.
We need another forward so this is good news if true, but with a 21 year old we are buying yet more potential, rather than the finished article which I would prefer.
I hope we sign another top class forward also, giving us Kane and an established forward capable of rivaling Kane, plus a young forward to develop. We can never have enough strikers imo.
Our squad lacks a few experienced heads, we should be looking to sign players ready for the first team.
A finished article wouldn't be happy sitting on our bench as they're not gonna dislodge Kane out of the starting 11, it's best to buy someone with potential and wouldn't kick up a stink being in the bench.
According to experts who seem to know him well Janssen has a fantastic attitude and is a fighter.
Very important qualities to work under Poch's regime.
Our team all experienced a title chase last season and will have learned from it. Don't buy this need for experienced heads.

It`s about having a squad, players are signed to train, not to sit on the bench, it also gives Poch the ability to rest his front man, unless we are expecting Kane to start all 50 odd games. We should ideally have a player ready to replace Kane of similar ability, in the event of injury and rotation, I doubt whether this Jansen will be that yet.
It would be madness to just go with a young inexperienced back up to Kane, a long term injury to Kane and we could be significantly weaker. I don`t buy the, "player X will not be happy sitting on the bench", players are signed to be part of a squad and have to earn a place in the team, same goes for Kane or anybody else.
This guy has been scoring goals for the Holland first team
Let's not pretend he is some joker who has just come on the scene
I hope he comes with the intent of eventually replacing Kane. That's the kind of rivalry we need in the squad
Don't know much about this player but it seems like a logical signing in terms of profile when Harry Kane is your main man.
All well and good saying Spurs should have a striker of similar ability to come in for Kane but let's be honest there aren't that many players of that level available and the ones that are will hardly move to Spurs to play second fiddle to Kane. Plus Levy isn't going to fund such a signing anyway.
Im sure whoever comes into our squad will get plenty of games and minutes next season.
With 3 or 4 quality additions we will have two quality players for each position and can rotate more frequently next season.

OP
I don't get your opinion, that Spurs need to basically spend big, and buy a player that sounds great, but in effect may be a big flop. Most of Spurs better players are cheapos or cost absolutely nothing. I am happy with that approach, after all the last two really big signings Soldado and Lamela between them cost £55 million and hardly set the world on fire, one was a complete flop, and the other whilst he has improved a bit, is hardly a nailed on starter. I suggest Spurs leave the spending big on players that mainly flop to clubs like United and Liverpool.
Sandy is correct (apart from on lamela, who is now a clear starter when everyone is fit )
We are rarely if ever going to sign oven-ready stars. Not for a few years anyway. The closest we have had is Hugo really.
Our profile is up and coming players with potential to go to the next level.
This is exactly the sort of signing we go for, and we have done alright from Eredivisie alumni of late - Eriksen, Jan, Chadli and even Toby, Mousa and Vorm after stops elsewhere.
I am much more comfortable buying from the Dutch and German leagues than the Southern European leagues
Remember guys, the op is not a Spurs fan
I think if Poch likes him, and he buys into his philosophy and training regime then that is good enough for me.
I really hope son will kick on this year. I cannot help but be totally disappointed by last years contribution
Cant see why he wouldnt improve
Obviously has talent as his spells at two German clubs have been good.
His goals per minute for us is actually very good, it is just those minutes have been spread very thinly across a lot of games. Hard to find any rhythm when you hardly start 2/3 games all season
I agree HRH. I definately want to give him another shot

Absolutely. And hopefully someone has nicked the clown shoes he was playing in for half of last year
Bad news is he will be going to the Olympics, so another disrupted preseason
Rumours are very strong that not only will Janssen join us but that we have opened talks with Batshuayi's agent.
It would make a big statement if we got both of these plus Vasquez from Palermo
Yep, we need to make a statement in this window that we mean business for next season, what with all the other top clubs` extravagant spending, there is a danger Spurs could be left behind a touch.
We must not stand still or add mediocre squad players, we need to improve our first XI and our squad. There will be plenty of money sloshing around so we can afford to spend, just as long as we continue to spend wisely.
