Arsenal are doing what they feel is best for Arsenal, if Vardy chooses to come and it ruins him then that's his fault. Why would Arsenal give a fack about England? England will go out in the quarters regardless of whether Vardy or whoever is "unsettled" or not.

Why would it be Arsenal's business how England - or any other international team fare? All they probably want is their players to perform well and not get injured.

As for the timing? Do it now before he potentially attracts more suitors due to his performances in the euros.

He wouldn't B the first player to be the subject of transfer speculation during a season or tournament and he won't be the last, it's up to him to handle it like a professional - which is what he is regardless of his previous footballing pedigree.

Not your finest work TFM.

Can't win 'em all Ledley!

If Arsenal don't care about the timing then maybe they will if it turns out they have just pushed their main transfer target into the limelight ahead of playing on the European stage. Whole thing seems stupid. Everyone should be talking about the Russia game and our chances and instead it's all Vardy to Arsenal. Stinks.

Vardy is now probably on a massive high after having the mighty Arsenal bid for him. He is living the dream and that can only be good for England.

Love your articles TFM as they are easily the best on 606 imo but agree with Ledley.

Me, I think england could go far, can't really say why but very good strikers and the team looks more balanced than previous years.

just resetting the bar of expectation Hoody! 😉 Was definitely done in a rush. Happy to stand by everything in it though. Basically, if England are crap, in going to blame Arsenal.

I imagine that's the stance you've taken with every other international competition, tbf.

Doesn't 20mill sound a bit low for an in form English striker ? I doubt Leicester would let him go for even double that.

England will meet Romania in the finals and lose on penalties, even so Spurtles cat will get a boot on the Arsenal.

I'd agree. So long a Roy gets the selection right, this young group of hungry players with the baggage of previous failures could do well.

I expect us to win the group and probably meet Germany in the semi finals.

However, this all depends on Roy. If he picks a bunch of work horses in the midfield and has Rooney as our creative force then we're doomed.

Vardy seems a strange target for Wenger. So maybe he really is just doing it to jeopardise England's chances, as he thinks we actually have a decent chance?

Vardy just back from honeymoon,to fecked to do anything.

Very unlike me to stick up for the Arsenal, but why should they care about England ?

If an arsenal player breaks his leg playing for England do England step in and pay his wages while he is out ? No

There are no central contracts in football therefore England rely on the clubs to release there players for duty.

Err, not a hundred percent sure, but I think they do nowadays.

I think FIFA now obliges national teams to take out an insurance on each play precisely to ensure that the National FA (via the insurance policy) pays the players' wages for the time he spends out.

We had a case with Marcelo when he broke his ankle playing for Brazil last season, and that's precisely what happened.
