Julio baptista. Not so much when he came to us but before when we were battling Real for his signature. Turned out to be simply a 5hite player.
Alot of hype around Baptista at that time for Sevilla.
When he eventually came to the PL,from Madrid, he seemed uninterested and overweight.

not many players fail for arsenal as Wenger doesnt really buy ready made players but the top 3 should be
1. Jose antonio Reyes
2. Arshavin (Didnt expect much from him but he was a failure)
3. Debuchy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair they all performed to their peak for 6 months. Reyes is the most regrettable one for me, he could have been a star.
Soldado and Paulinho are the ones that spring to mind.

This
IamMe will be on here soon saying David De Gea!
Kewell - bags of ability, always injured
Ince - thought he was the answer to our DM issues, turns out he was quite average by the time we got him
Collymore - thought he and Fowler would be awesome. Turns out he was a massive tool and not especially good at football.
James - had all the tools to be a goalkeeping great. Only one problem, he kept making mistakes.
Litmanen - touch of class about him as a footballer but we never saw it because he was constantly on the bench!
Several young players never made the grade that I thought might. I remember being convinced Richie Partridge would be the real deal. Who you may ask? Exactly.
Kagawa didn't live up to the hype. He was on fire for Dortmund when we signed him, but he just couldn't live with the rhythm of the PL.
A known target for united who would have been sensational was Batistuta. Guy was an unbelievable goal scorer and bursting with passion on the pitch. Came close to signing, but never materialised unfortunately.
Savio Nsereko, ultimately such a non event that nobody remembers him, but it the time West Ham were considered to have pulled off a bit of a coup with his signing.
Kagawa, just wasnt used properly
Depay, damn u YouTube
Good shouts on Smith and Kleberson.
I was in Brazil when we signed Kleberson and people there were raving about him. (In retrospect, they do tend to overhype Brazilian players a bit over there...)
Di Maria, Anderson and Barthez could and should have been much better for us.
Kewell and Morientes were the big ones for me.
Even all these years on its Walcott. Injuries mean he isnt half the player he could have been.

Ambrosetti. Was meant to be our Ryan Giggs, according to Vialli anyway
Remember when we signed Brian Laudrup and he was awesome. We could have won titles in the late 90's if he stayed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Laudrup for me.
Also Robert Fleck, cost us like a Million a goal when a Million in football was worth something as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WW
Were you like me in thinking Hoddle might change Fleck's fortunes? Based on him not suiting the 'route one' that Porterfield and Webb played. But Hoddle would suit him better?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I had given up on him by then you could see he was a shadow of the player he was a Norwich.
I was too busy expecting big things from our next star striker Paul Furlong
Kagawa.
There was so much positivity about how we would operate Kagawa behind Rooney and then we went and bought RVP who while I loved you just knew it would effect the usage of Kagawa.
I remember Kagawa vs Hazard
I don't? I remember that Kagawa was doing really well at one of the best clubs in Europe where as Hazard was the star at a relatively small club, I don't ever recall comparisons.

Soldado
Absolutely deadly striker in la liga for the three seasons prior to joining Spurs
I thought Veron was going to be a great signing for us, but never worked out.
