I have a mate home moved to Vancouver, I know it's Canada and not the US but he says it's one amazing place

Yes I would love to live in Vancouver.

I could only live in the very north of the US. I can barely deal with a British summer, Arizona would turn me to toast!

lived in NY for a few years, was a great place, far better than london, and with fewer w@nkers. didn't see a single gun/knife in 3 years - not too many boozed up louts either - but equally didn't see any busty women running around in red swimsuits, which was disappointing.

would move back there tomorrow, but whether i'd ever settle in bumph@ck alabama i don't know.

No. It wouldn't be my last country of choice to live in, but I doubt it would make my top 25.

I've never seen the attraction with America. Many visits there to visit family hasn't helped at all.

I suppose it gives you a snapshot of what Britain will be like in 25 yrs

Its great isn't it. That awesome park in the river bed is amazing and goes on for miles. Millions of football pitches in it which kinda explains why Spanish people are so good at football.

It reminded me of Miami but without all the faux machismo

I've been offered a few jobs over there, New York, DC and San Francisco, but it doesn't appeal, even though the cash offered was insane.

I can handle a few chats here and there with Americans, but they would do my head in on a day to day basis.

I'n settled back in England now, after 11 years in Portugal, but could see myself going back there in my golden years... It's a fantastic place, 330 days of sun!

I think I'll have to try Valencia one day. Sounds great.

I love America, and I'd consider living there. Plenty of stupid people in the UK too.

Do it and soon. The mestalla is due to be knocked down in 2018. The tour is pretty cool. You get to sit in the managers chair and also walk around the VIP bits, the history room and the changing rooms and see all the shirts of the players hung up (I havent done the OT tour so not sure its like that).

I love visiting America, but would be a fairly disconcerting place to live I feel. If I had to live anywhere else than the island of Ireland, Germany or one of the Scandanavian countries appeals to me.

I still need to tick a few places off my list. Wanna see Chicago. Loads of my fave movies are set there and i wanna see how reality stacks up against it

I'd consider living in America but would probably choose Canada over it. I studied in Toronto for a while and loved it. I was there during the brutal winter and it didn't put me off at all.

I lived in Portugal for four years, just outside Lisbon, and the lifestyle is fabulous. Good food, great weather (though not perhaps as great as some people might think), plenty of beaches and outdoor spaces. Violent crime is much rarer than over here and your money goes a long way, especially in terms of renting a flat.

I can't see myself living outside the north-west of England ever again, but if I were to move abroad, I've always fancied the Netherlands (or Canada, as mentioned above).

My late father travelled quite a bit during his time in the RAF and he said without a shadow of doubt the best place he's ever visited is South Africa, thing is though their big cities do seem quite violent, unless I'm misinformed

Where about mate?

I love Lisbon, probably my favourite city.... Partying in the Bairro Alto is wild. Parque das Nações is great too.

British, Irish and Australian (I use those countries as an example as I imagine most people on here are those nationalities )

Really? Aside from you, how many Aussies are on here?

Got lots of friends who live in NY and LA, they all seem very happy. Living in London, NY appeals less as it's very similar in that it's a bustling city. Always felt that living in LA would be a great idea, one day for sure.

I don't know if I'd want to live there, to be honest. Cape Town is a really marvellous place - aesthetically beautiful and modern at the same time. You genuinely feel like you're living in a sort of paradise but then you look at every house and it's got barbed wire/electric fences and a black sign saying which particular armed response group will arrive if someone tries to break in. You also don't have to go far to see destitute poverty - just a couple of miles from glittering white malls there are people in tin huts with no running water.

I'm afraid to say that I'd live in constant fear of a burglary or worse if I moved to South Africa.

But, yes, it's a wonderful place to visit. Magical. Great people as well.
