Oh grow a pair.

What's wrong with cynical fouls? Every team can make them if necessary and it's an automatic yellow card so a player can only do it once in 90 minutes so frankly who cares?

As has been pointed out, it is a cynical and unlawful way to prevent another team from having a chance of scoring. It isn't a mistimed tackle or accidental foul, it is unspirtsmanlike (similar to how a lot of people feel about diving)

A player may only be able to do it once in 90 minutes but there are 14 players available to a team so it could potentially happen 14 times. In the Italy match it happened 3 times in about 10 minutes

Big fan of them - shows initiative, intelligence and ultimately often stop dangerous counter attacks. Like someone pointed out, Eder's was superb - pull the man down and boot the ball clear. If only Sterling et al would have similar gamesmanship qualities - unfortunately our players spend most their brainpower figuring out basic things, like how to control a ball.
