Girouds also 7 years older and at Lukakus age was playong in Ligue 2. When Lukaku reaches his peak he'll be a few levels above Giroud ever was

If Giroud had Lukaku pace he could be WC but he doesnt.

Lukaku scores goals in lesser teams than the French flop.

You don't have to watch him flail around hopelessly on a weekly basis. For every goal he scores he blunts at least a dozen attacks.

Thing is, people will look at the stats and say both players are of similar level. And in fairness, I think that excluding penalties, they have score the same amount of goals in the PL since Giroud joined us.

But it doesn't take into account that Giroud plays with much better midfield and plaeyrs in general.
Lukaku wouldn't turn us into PL challenger but I think he would suits us better.

Pelle is Giroud lite

You certainly do need a top striker (not Vardy) but for what you paid I think around £12M, then I would say it was money well spent.

Wenger's fault that he thought that was all you needed, although he did add Welbeck who is still not your answer to the issue.

Credit where it is due, Giroud has a much better first touch than Lukaku.
Watching him yesterday, it was like watching a ball just boucing off the wall.

Giroud didnt score between January and May despite playing regularly. He is very much a form player and will only give any decent form for about 2 months at a time with several months of very poor form inbetween. After a run of 4-5 months of poor form he is hitting his 2 months of good form at the right time for France. If he stays true to form and he plays regularly for Arsenal (which I hope he doesnt) I dont ecxpect him to hit another run of good form until around December.

Lukaku > Giroud for consistency.
