Dier was superb again tonight, a real powerhouse moving forward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What game were you watching? He is so slow in possession. He takes about 10 seconds to sort his feet out for shots so they all get charged down. He was awful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That`s right, because Dier`s primary job in this England team is to be a creative midfield player that scores goals
That`s like criticizing a forward because they are not excellent defenders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No but he should move the ball quicker. Why is he just holding onto it in acres of space with good passes on. He slows all the attacks down and then the defence does not get shifted around. So we don't score. He is the problem.
Dier awful? What game were you watching?
Henderson is nothing but energy Pool fans love him because gives his all but at this level you need more than that.
Clyne was top class tonight, it will be a tough choice over him and walker.
"At this level"
What do people mean when they say this? The team we played against tonight are not as good as most Premier League teams, as far as I'm concerned. Same goes for Russia and Wales.
Level of ability....In the Premier league you can get away with being a direct, athletic, headless chicken because lets face it the technical side of our league is pretty poor and its all about end to end action.
''He's made too many changes''
Yeah because we really scored bucket loads against Russia and Wales.
I'm one of Hodgson's biggest critics but at the end of the day we created more than enough opportunities to win the game. had the overwhelming majority of possession, 29 shots and Vary missed failed to score from a one on one.
Vardy and Sturridge both should have scored, Sturridge`s was the worst miss, it was on a plate and he failed to connect, Vardy`s pace earned himself his chance.
At least in the next game we should be facing a side that will hopefully try and win the match and not put 11 players behind the ball.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was.hardly on a plate. Ball over his shoulder with the defender just next to him. That was a hard chance if that what you are talking about.
Vardy did fluff his chance though. Thought he would do his usual of slowing down and letting the CB touch him for a penalty.
I'm just annoyed cos you can predict international football especially with managers like woy so easily.
I had England to draw all 3 games and score under 2 goals per game.
I also had scores of eng 1-1 rus, eng 1-1 Wales and slo 0-0 eng before the tournament started
Sturridge has cost me thousands
Dier and Clyne best players on the pitch. Wilshere horrendous and Henderson had loads of touches but did very little his crosses were rubbish aswell.
Woy should be sacked now after tonight I would guess along with the fact he took Wilshere which he should be sacked for aswell. What more could drink water have done.
Be interesting to see if Wilshere ever recovers to have some form or drops down the divisions cos of his injuries.
I'm intrigued to know if any non Liverpool fans rate Henderson because he's absolutely garbage and offers nothing at all. Worst player in the squad and absoloute joke he made the 23 man squad. He's never even scored for England along with Lalana whilst players such as Wilshire, Ali, Dier, Townsend and Ox all have despite the fact most of them haven't played that many games for England.
Its a tournament thing. If Slovakia had been in our qualification group we would have had a dull but easy 6 points off them. All we can now do for the next game is pick the 5 Spurs players and hope they can drag the others through?
If people have so far been unconvinced by Jordan Henderson, the Slovakia game exposed him for what he is: vastly overrated and not good enough at this level. Jack Wilshere has also turned out to be another failed gamble, and Danny Drinkwater of Leicester must be sick to his stomach to have lost out to him and Henderson. Hodgson is pathetic, selecting so-called big club players who did little last season in favour of players on form. Absolutely pathetic, and he must know now that Sterling, Henderson and Wilshere are complete duds. Those three can get on the plane back to England now for all that they're going to help us progress, and Hodgson must be replaced as England coach as soon as the tournament ends. Yes, Slovakia parked the bus, but six changes - why? To give other players a rest? They shouldn't need one. To try six different players? The time for trying out players is now over. You play your best XI and use the rest as subs only. As a West Bromwich Albion fan, I am quickly losing all faith in and respect for Hodgson. The OP has got it spot on about him. Clueless.
To rest six players in what at most is a seven game tournament is suicidal. if players cannot see out that many games then they have no right to even be at the tournament. And Hodgson should have been sacked after the shambolic world cup, so when Hodgson finally goes, can the England selectors also be fired.
Unacceptable really. The fans were all excited before the match, the scenes in St Etienne were hilarious. You just knew as soon as the changes were announced that it was going to fail.
Would a team like Spain suddenly make those changes? Especially Walker and Rose for Clyne and Bertrand who both never really contributed to the attacks.
The atmosphere after the game was just dejection. Fans travelled all the way in numbers for a performance like that, showed great support during the match and then to see a performance like that was just a waste.
At one point Rooney was playing left wing. What is it with England and having CMs out there.
Clyne was superb I thought, not sure how you could say he never really contributed to our attacks.
The game was much like the other two.....dominated against teams that allowed themselves to be pinned back

Clyne had acres of time and space and was up against a pub player at LB, other than a shot at goal I do not remember him creating a single goal scoring chance or supplying any key passes or crosses. He had one of the easiest games of his career and created nothing going forward.
He created 7 chances Billy
I was critical of his inclusion yesterday, but I thought he was superb last night.
Not his fault they were so unadventurous. He did all he could

What 7 chances? I don`t remember, please enlighten.
I mean clear goal scoring chances, not hopeful balls into the box that skim off someone`s head or nearly lead to a half chance.
Dont shoot the messenger.
Are we basing the fullbacks solely on clear cut chances created?
How many have Rose and Walker laid on a plate?
Dont be bitter, give credit where due.
That`s not being bitter, that`s just stating facts. Both full backs had an easy night and had enough ball, time and space, neither created anything of note. If having a good game is wasting a vast amount of possession in good areas, then so be it.
Clyne wasn't superb. He was good but thats about it. I dont think he stood out much but then again noone did.
If i had to pick though id say Clyne and Dier were the best on the pitch. I just dont see why he needed to make so many changes.
We have no winger and you could see that. Sturridge came short way too often and too central. Sometimes Lallana and him would be on the same wide area.
Wilshere lost the ball plenty and was poor. There wasnt enough creativity and movement to pierce their defence.
I thought Hamsik was really good. He played for the weaker team but you could see his quality
I suspect the result would have been exactly the same had Roy made no changes from the previous two games.
Slovakia basically sat back and fought tooth and nail for a draw - congrats to them for almost certainly securing qualification. If they opened up and went for a win they almost certainly would have been picked apart by the better team, England, and almost certainly out of contention for one of 4 spots to go through as 3rd place finishers
The sense of entitlement by some English fans to beat a side in these circumstances is frankly cringeworhty, and i'm a neutral who couldn't care less whether England progressed or not.
Tbf, the English fans at the game seemed to be in very high spirits having secured qualification. Absolutely nothing to grumble about - aside from maybe, not having somebody world class to unlock a game.
Personally i think Roy has been a resounding success in this whole Euro campaign so far, and i think his side can push far because they have a lot of ingredients to do so
