Drinkwater
Carrick

Should have been in that team, not wheelchair and henderson who barely played football this season.

Hodgson is an idiot

I think Rashford would have genuinely made more of an impact than some of the players out there yesterday.

He has great link up, he is a good finisher, offers good movement and he's not afraid to try things.

Don't think he should be starting, but we've no real wingers.

It's our job to find a way through no matter how well a team defends

I don't know why people rate Drinkwater.

Carrick is streets ahead of Drinkwater in performances. Carrick despite making more percentage of forward passes then backward passes then drinkwater still managed a much higher pass percentage by 8%. Had a 70% higher shot accuarcy.

Carrick was the best player at something 7 times while the worst player 0 times vs Drinkwater best player 6 times worst player at something 11 times.

Wales and Russia both managed to score against that defence.

Having said that, I don't think England were that bad last night. They created chances. Most of the changes worked out okay - I'd say only Henderson significantly worsened the XI. Rashford might have done something, but then again he might have come on and played quite well but without anything falling for him, like in the Wales game.

Drinkwater, Andy Carroll, Townsend and Carrick are four players I would have had in the squad, instead of the wasted squad places of Horrendo, Wheelchair, Barkley and Rashford

Slovakia were going for wins in those games though.

I'm looking forward to the knockout rounds, as teams will have to attack us. I'm finding it quite hard to gauge our team after 3 games where the opposition simply wanted a draw. I know it is up to us to break down these sort of teams, but it doesn't always work out.... Spain's first game could easily have ended in a 0-0 draw, as is the nature of these sort of games. It is frustrating, but hopefully we can now see the real England, even if it shows us something we don't wanna see.

Dunno, none of our players had the ability to make anything happen in tight spaces. His movement is really intelligent too.

Something Rashford is very good at is making a yard out of nowhere and getting a shot off.

I'd also have backed him to finish a lot of the chances missed yesterday. I'm not calling him the next Ronaldo, just saying he has attributes we lacked yesterday.

Red Russian,

I think Henderson is getting a rough ride after last night.

He set up our best chances - a ball for Vardy, to ball for Clyne to get through and make a good chance for Lallana and if I'm not mistaken the chance for Alli also. There may be one or two I missed. He also tested the keeper with a good bring-down and shot on the turn.

My feeling about Rashford is he would have provided much needed width. I'm still amazed the management team couldn't see the need for width. Slovakia where there for the taking with a couple of minor tactical tweaks.

Billy The Yidd Rashford is England best striker. England only win came due to Rashford opening up the gap for Sturridge and a lucky break. I think Rashford if he played all 3 games would have had at least 3 goals easily. The problem is likes of Kane, Sturridge, Vardy are not elite finishers.

I don't really get your hate for Henderson. Was he brilliant, no. But he was easily are most effective and positive outlet along with Clyne and Lallana last night, especially in the first half, putting in some good forward balls, the pass for Vardy in particular was actually very good.

I think genuine question marks can be made over both Henderson and Wilshere's inclusion in the squad because they've had poor seasons but in terms of Henderson's actual performance last night I thought he was good, no worse than our midfield performances all tournament. Dier has been our best all tournament but he was hardly needed last night.

Think we made some poor sub choices last night too.

I don't think you guys should have taken Rashford tbh. He's obviously very talented but he doesn't offer that much off the bench that the likes of Kane and Sturridge can.

I would have taken Andy Carroll instead as he offers something very different and like Hoddle said last night gives you another way to skin the cat so to speak.

In the last 20 minute in games like last night he would have been a great option.

This shows Kane and Vardy with 1 game of the season to go. Kane 16% conversion rate, Vardy 22%. Rashford on the other hand had a 55.6% conversion rate in the premierleague, the best premierleague striker was Rashford.

Heck forget about England strikers:
Rashford (all comps) v world's best (league) conversion:

Rashford - 30%
Suarez - 27%
Higuaín - 18%
Neymar - 15%
Messi - 15%
CR7 - 13%

Robb any other country Rashford would be first name on team sheet. I never seen a player at Man Utd so good for a long time in striking department. Having to put up with Martial who takes lots of chances to score, or Memphis who can't score most of the time or Rooney who know thinks low power shots to keeper is best way to score.

posted on 21/6/16

Mean now. Anyway if Rashford doesn't play after the lack of goals then it shows you Hodgson has an agenda against Man Utd players. A player whose stats speak for themselves can't get into an England side who can't score from many attacks.

Jack Wilshere's game by numbers:
8 misplaced passes
1 tackle won
0 chances created
0 interceptions
0 shots
.........
Perfect numbers for Hodgson.
