Has he not said he wouldn't take it after being looked over last time.
Im sure he'd re-consider if offered the chance to take us to a world cup.
Harry Redknapp is tactically inept so that would be disastrous. I would give the job to Eddie Howe he's a young up and coming manager who plays progressive football.
Lars Lagerback.
Great name and he's got loads of tournament experience with Sweden and the mighty Iceland
Doesn't matter who they give it to. The manager is only a small part of the problem.
No to Redknapp, no to Hoddle and no to any other over the hill has beens. The game has moved on and managers are getting younger.
Eddie Howe is a good call if we are going British.
Please just no to Southgate, although it probably will be.
England lack a philosophy. This is why we need King Louie.
Does anyone actually care anymore? Hodgson did pretty well between the last World Cup and the start of this tournament, just as Capello did before the 2010 WC.
We have another absolutely pisss easy qualifying group, and ultimately won't know how good we are until 2 years time, even if we go the whole time unbeaten.
There's literally nothing to get excited about.
FFS anybody on these boards could probably achieve as much failure as Woy with the current squad. Maybe one of you could put your name forward.
I can't because I have to work full time and the boss wouldn't give me the time off
England should embrace what you're good at, dorect, agressive football at tempo, it's not pretty but look how well ROI, NI and Wales have done by playing this way, the opposition don't like it, especially the top teams, look how we had France struggling in the first half on Sunday, ultimatley they coudl change it from the bench and their quality shied through but we really gave them a game.
England shoudl give Big Sam the job, acceot this is it and then you may actually enjoy it again.
Going by what Hoddle spouts over the co-commentator mic I wouldnt want him anywhere near the England set up.

We aren't good at this, though.
Anyone who won't bow down to the media pressure to pick certain players on reputation and overlook others. Past it now but Carrick would have been a top player for England had he been picked in his prime instead of the constant accomodating of Lampard and Gerrard
Glenn Hoddle. Should never have lost the job after 98..
He's been out of the game for years, but he was always more of a motivator than a tactician and he encourages players to be expressive.
I'm sick of these 'tacticians' coaching all creativity out of talented players. "Let the boys play!"
Too early for Howe to get involved in the England set up.Dont think he'll deal with the presure at his stage in his career at the moment.
Pardew. He's arrogant and cocky and would love the attention in being Mr number one in England, and the small fortune he'll make from it.
Would England offer him the role though ?
Im not sure.
Southgate.Done well in the England set up with the youth team.Has managerial PL experience.Abit bland and lacking charisma but he certainly reads as a FA safe bet for the moment.

Who can blame them being millionares if the PL continually makes alot of wealth. They deserves that slice of pie because they're the ones bringing the entertainment to millions.
Hopefully someone with a backbone who doesn't put square pegs in round holes.
How Woy was allowed to play that midfield 3 in a major tournament was a joke. Only one of those players is a central midfielder.

england need exactly what united needed - someone with the cojones to drop rooney first of all, and then to start playing players in their correct positions. be nice if those players were a bit better too, if sterling and lallana are the best we can do as wide forwards (and they probably are) then maybe we need a change of formation too.
but couldn't really see southgate, or howe, coming in and retiring rooney as their first act. pardew might do that actually, not sure how tactically astute he is, and he may rub some people up the wrong way, but he has the b@lls, i'll give him that.
Big Sam for me. Back to basics, learn to defend, learn to play for the team and add a little fight back into the side.
