None of these names are making me feel particularly positive over Englands future.
Tim Sherwood.
We'd be equally as shiiit but at least he'd have a go at the players when we go out of a tournament in shame.
Please give it to Tim Sherwood and Alan Shearer as a double act
Ideally we want someone who won't get us to the World Cup. My brother is determined that we will go to Russia 2018 for his 30th, which will be slap bang in the middle of the group stages of the tournament.
I don't fancy being stabbed/shot/put in a coma, so it'll really make me happier if we aren't there.
Howe for me....but it's nailed on to be Southgate.

You won't be Ridiculous to even think that.
I like Howe but I think going from Bournemouth and their one season in the PL to England and all the baggage that brings would be too big a step at this time.

Ridiculous? Where have you been for the past few weeks? Obviously my comment was tongue in cheek, but to label it ridiculous to be concerned that England fans travelling to Russia might be subjected to violence is, frankly, ridiculous.

A few 100 yobs on the continent is not comparable to what will happen in Russia
You think for one second Putin will allow this to happen in front of the watching world on home soil? Think about it
You think for one second Putin will allow this to happen
-
What's he going to do? All I saw from Russian politicians throughout the tournament were words of encouragement for this behaviour.
What exactly has Putin done in the last few years to indicate that he's concerned by world opinion?
You can use all the silly emojis you want, they don't add validity to your opinion.
Gareth Southgate 5/4
Harry Redknapp 5/1
Alan Shearer 7/1
Eddie Howe 7/1
Glenn Hoddle 8/1
Alan Pardew 12/1
Gary Neville 12/1
Sam Allardyce 12/1
Depressing times indeed.
I would go foreign again but a foreign manager with passion even though he has no connection with the country, perhaps someone like Bilic.
A good foreign coach is doing wonders with the rugby.
Redknapp or Hoddle for me.
Laughably Shearer is 3rd favourite.

to keep myself sane i prefer to believe that is purely a bookies' response to him shouting on the tv last night, rather than the FA actually considering him to be a credible candidate

First off it was one maybe 2 Russian politicans who tweeted soem ridiculos stuff about support, they were hardly showing fights on big screens with the entire Russian political base cheering.
Also of course Putin will be concerned about how Russia comes across when hosting the world cup. One of the defining reason for giving Russia the WC is to have a legacy, now it's probably a fallacy and there were some shady deals going on, but Putin will be 100% aware the eyes of the world are on Russia with many (especially English) people hoping they fail miserably.
What do actually think will happen? government sponsiored hooligans running riot all over Russia beating up anyone they feel like?
Again think about it
