Very little loyalty in football, especially when foreign players come to these shores, it happens all the time.
But really going from Leicester to Chelsea is a promotion despite contrasting seasons.
Wouldnt you take a promotion after a year? I certainly would
I'm not suggesting for one minute that Chelsea are not bigger than Leicester or a better long-term prospect but as Claudio said, give us one more season to see this through.
Ask yourself how you felt when Lampard signed to go to the US and then came back to face Chelsea for Man City?
I couldnt give a monkeys about Lampard tbh, could say the samne about Robbie Keane and others, its a short career, make the most of it I say.
Leicester for their success last season were always going to be torn apart by the bigger teams. Mahrez will be next to go
Completely bonkers post.....so Vardy gets some kind of credit for touting himself around the premier league, booking in a medical with Arsenal and then doing a u turn because we paid him over £100k a week? That was weeks after he signed a new deal......
Yet kante, who unlike Vardy, has never given commitments to the fans that he will stay, has always been clear he will make a decision after the euros, is going to get vilified because he DIDNT go to PSG?....
What on earth do you expect? Chelsea are a much bigger club than Leicester and will likely be challenging on multiple front next season. Leicesters season is more likely to have been a spectacular one off....
You're saying Cambiasso left with dignity because he chose a foreign club to move to. Which is just ridiculous......
He was with you for one year, the lure of London and a bigger club, its not that shocking he doesn't have to listen to ranieris everyword
OK Chelsea are a bigger club, but he won't be revered there the way he was at Leicester, he won't have champions league next season and the place is a library
People tend to go for jobs in the same industry, country is irrelevant.
Why don't you understand that it's YOU that supports the club, to most players it's a paying job.
Chelsea are a big successful club I'm sure a lot of players would go there for a big payrise.
So naive.... money dictates the modern day footballer, there is no loyalty in the game...Chelsea football club will/should guarantee top4/trophies/CL every season whereas Leciester cannot.... maybe he thought why would he want to lose that opportunity? Surprised Vardy stayed tbh.. would Love Mahrez at UtD!!!
^^ Chelsea may not want him next season

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at Stamford Bridge for the last game of the season. The Chelsea fans were making a lot of noise, as much as the Leicester fans considering we had just won the league.
He will be revered if he puts in the kind of performances that he has this season and does it consistently and realistically Chelsea will be in the CL next season.
Conte is a huge draw for any player, one of the top coaches in the world - let's not forget that Ranieri was one of the reasons we got kante in the first place.
It's a kick in the teeth but we knew it was coming....
I know its a short career and there is no loyalty in football anymore but it will be sad to see these players failing to back up their amazing achievement of winning the League. I guess their agents are telling them to maximise their earning potential while they can but to leave before representing Leicester in the CL (for a club that hasn't qualified) is a long way from right. In a world where Liverpool have paid 34mil for Mane I guess nothing should shock us anymore.
I'm sorry why does Kante owe Leicester anything? He's only been in England one year, players stay longer than that on loan.
Not surprised he wants to join Chelsea. Amazing location, win trophies most seasons, surrounded by top players, have probably the most fashionable coach at the minute. Especially for a player of African heritage like Kante, Chelsea are an enormous draw. A lot of the greatest African players ever like Drogba, Essien, Eto'o have played for Chelsea
he knew he was going hence the signing of Mendy
Also to the Leicester fan saying Kante won't be revered at Chelsea... He hasn't even signed yet or worn the shirt and he already is!

I could only get a ticket in the shed end when we went there last game last season, two blokes in front of me didn't even stand up when they scored, let alone let out a cheer
What we can't do now is let Mahrez leave.....
Lots of news around this morning that he wants to follow kante to Chelsea. No release clause though so we could slap a silly price on his head
Only problem with that is I kind imagine a de-motivated Mahrez being pretty awful on the pitch.
If I'm honest I would be OK with letting Mahrez and kante go if we could keep Walsh. That worries me more than anything else I have read this week
Its very disappointing that he is leaving for a club in the same league and I do wish he had waited a season but sadly, as Claudio admits, its understandable.
They are a club who are likely to win trophies and be back in the CL, staying at LCFC would be a gamble for NG and as disappointed as I am he was only here for a season and life goes on.
I'd have preferred him to go to a proper footballing giant like Bayern, Madrid, Barca etc but this is what modern football is like.
What annoys me about it is more what it says about football rather than NG specifically. We managed to create one of the greatest sporting stories ever in a team that seems to be made up of close friends yet we still can't hold onto our best players its very depressing.
What hope do teams like Leicester, Southampton, Stoke etc have when if they achieve they just get gutted by clubs who despite having bottomless pits of money seem unable to get a scouting department that can pick up gems like teams traditionally lower down the table do.
Its not about being annoyed with Chelsea who really have done nothing wrong, or NG whose move is frustrating but understandable but with the direction football is going in general, I thought last year might kick start something special in football in general but clearly not
Chesham - spot on.
It's the state of modern day football and the reason why Ranieri knew last season was a one off. An amazing one which I'm so thrilled happened in my lifetime, but in today's world - the big clubs always win in the end.
Unless you have a ridiculous level of money and are prepared to spend anything to try and sign the worlds best players (a la man city when they got taken over) then you have no hope of trying to break into the elite over a period of time. Southampton have shown that time and again.....every time they get close, their team gets picked off by the top 4.....
What I hope for is a decent run at the CL and that we can keep within the top 10 of the prem and build towards being a top 6 regular but it will be very difficult
You're paying Vardy £100+k a week...you...Leicester...and you're worried at the direction football is going.
You couldn't make it up.

That just backs up the point we are making doesn't it?
None of us like the fact that Vardy had us over a barrel and we shelled out £100k a week for him. That's precisely what's wrong with football, it was either that or lose another one of our key players to a bigger club.
You could say it's fortunate that we now have the money to do that, but I would rather not be giving Jamie Vardy £100k a week. It's ridiculous......
Just spotted that Hector is a Celtic fan......
I wonder if we can do better than they have in Europe this season...? Part time teams who live on a rock near Spain can be tough opposition to be fair.....
I mean how can you compete with a team who finished their work shift 2 hours before kick off? It's that kind of European quality that makes me nervous about Leicester in the Champions League next season.....
Let's hope we don't draw the champions of Gibralter...

Ignore Obers lads, he's a bit of a spoiled arrogant plastic prawn sarnie muncher who is only interested in the oligarch that owns the club he chose to 'support' cherry picking the best talent from better run clubs so e can give it the biggun on Internet forums. My goldfish has probably been to Chelsea more than he has.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bitter much that despite Spurs' best season ever players would rather go to Chelsea after a dreadful season
And how many Chelsea games has your goldfish been to? Pretty sure I could top it.
What else do you expect from Chelsea, buying up all the opposition and weakening their rivals with the lure of mega wages, and all funded by dodgy money. Vile, disgusting football club that is only in the position it is due to having an owner with more money than most other clubs.
Kante is just another greedy mercenary, giving up the chance to play in the CL for the lure of money. He could have given Leicester one more year and seen through the CL campaign.
