Anyone callign him an idiot why not actually make a vaild point as to why you think this?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he's paid out around a grand for something he'll never use depriving someone of a ticket who might actually appreciate it - in the vain belief that his non-appearance will be noticed.

Let's not give him hero status - he's hardly a suffragette jumping in front of a galloping horse.

In fact I'd wager that it is BS anyway

It could well be BS and him alone won't make a diference, but if enough season ticket holders picked a particular game to not attend the owners will notice and it will get huge media attention.

Look at how quickly our owners reacted to the 77th minute walk out last season, and my previous post show's how enough fans not turning up to Anfiled got Roy the sack.

I can see the counter argument however I've yet to see anyone suggest a better alternative, the OP simply not buying the season ticket won't make any difference.

I should say I'm saying this because people seem to dismiss it as a valid for of protest, personally I don't think Wenger deserves it, I don't think the OP alone will make any difference.

The Arsneal fanbase is too divided anyway to really make it work, but it certainly can work if enough fans do it.

But as long as tickets are sold the club won't care whether seats are empty or not as it still gets the cash in sales.

The only way to protest effectively would be to attend matches and protest loudly which as long as it supported by others will draw attention to the issue.

That's why historically marches are organised when people want to protest about something as it gives an issue publicity.

I don't think a few empty seats will make any difference in the slightest.

The problem is, Kneerash, it is one man. The Liverpool thing was organised.

Plus, his reasons for not attending are "I don't want to be in the ground at the start of the season when it all starts to go pete tong and the calls for wengers head starts". Not really a protest, is it.
And if things go well, well we can pretty safely assume he will be in the stands using his season ticket.

do you go to any games?

Call me an old romantic but I just think buying a ticket with the sole purpose of not using it is pretty selfish. There are loads of fans on the waiting list for tickets and depriving perhaps a young kid of one who could then potentially fall in love with the club is not the right way to make a point.

Hey Ivan, I've an idea why not take his ticket and then not attend as a protest? That'll show em'

Only if you promise not to go to the game. It is a protest after all... Wenger will be gutted

OP, yours is a noble stand. If there were only more Gooners that were willing to make that sacrifice for the greater good. I doff my hat to you sir.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I cancelled my red membership renewal this year. Does that count?

And did you see all the positive effects that had? Wenger out? Kroenke out? Big money signings in?

Yeah Arsenal fans have been sold well short. They were told a magnificent new stadium that would attract the best and compete with the best. Hardly the reality as we have been reminded by Gazidis.

So you will be left with many more empty seats until the prices come in line to match the current boards ambitions.

Hmmm.... not sure how this will happen bearing in mind it's pretty much been a sell-out bar the odd League Cup game.

Was looking sparser to me come the end of last season. Truly believe there are fans out there that will pay for their season ticket but may well protest by not going. They want Change but don't want to relinquish the ST.
