Wonder how we'll do against Messi/Barca then?
At least the Champions League games ought not to trouble us for too long!

The same PL whose Man City knocked out PSG last season?
Lol. You have about 8 teams competing in Europe and you found 1 result of meaning beaten by midgetland

the PL that have one hardly any European trophies despite having more money than anyone. That pl. completely outclassed by the other big leagues in European wins. Vastly underperforming.
I can't and won't take any pre season result seriously

---------------------------------------------------------
The PL who has the joint 2nd most CL trophies by country. The only one that tops them is Spain, that's only because of Real Madrid with 9.
They are also joint with Italy, Milan have 10 CL trophies and look at where they are now!
What about France? Absolutely 0.
So can hardly say they don't have any CL trophies to their name. Not many in the last 5 years or so, but sometimes you can't help a team's dominance, but it doesn't last forever.
And more money than anyone, so it's a pitiful return. That's not counting Europa trophies. The premiers representation in Europe has been embarrassing considering our money. Best league in the world my erse.
I think it is the best world in the league. Most competitive and unpredictable for sure. I wouldn't want to see one team winning the league season after season like Bayern, PSG etc. Even Atletico, RM and Barca are all the same.

It's not really though. Last season a blip (agreat one) but it's fairly predictable as things go. The money will make sure of that, we are already seeing the top clubs outspend everyone in sight with stupid amounts going on players.
It's ruining football.
Might have been 4-0 but they beat Inter and Real 3-1 and we simply weren't at the same level of match fitness and that was very evident. If we play them again in the CL with Vardy up front I'm sure we won't lose 4-0.
If Amartey's header and been an inch the other side it would have been a different story but it wasn't. We were at our best for 15 minutes and caused them problems so at full fitness and full strength I think we would do much better. It wasn't like they peppered our goal either and I wouldn't say they were 4-0 better than us personally but just my opinion.
PSG were ahead of us in all of the key areas. Match fitness, sharpness, composure, quality and above all finishing. Let's be honest, they should be too. This is new territory for us and the key thing is to gain the experience without becoming disheartened by the result. I fully expect a similar outcome with the Barcelona match.
Whilst it's great to be involved in a tournament like this, I just hope all the travelling doesn't have a detrimental effect come the start of season. That said though, there's plenty more PL teams in the same boat.
One of the glaring differences today was the composure in front of goal. Ulloa, Musa and Albrighton had clear chances to hit the target but failed to do so. We need to get Vardy some game time ASAP.
Ulloa for me is an enigma. On the one hand I see him as an excellent Championship level striker, and on the other I acknowledge that whilst he's not as quick and mobile as I'd like, he does have good feet and the knack of scoring key goals. I still think we should keep him as he offers something different to the other strikers we have, but I think he would be near the top of the list if we were looking to upgrade with better quality.
As for combatting Mr Messi on Wednesday, my vote would be to sign Mr Tickle. Imagine how far he could throw the ball with those arms!
UTF!
I was worried there were would be an article on here today about the PSG game, only because of the inevitable morons it would attract who are waiting for us to slip up next season.
Some perspective - man utd lost 4-1 to Dortmund. Is that an indication of the season they are going to have?
My concern is our pre-season match sharpness. We are miles behind other sides and it's painfully obvious. I think this is our third friendly. Vardy hasn't even played yet and I do think we could have a slower start to the season as a result...
That being said, it is clear we are one or two signings short. Sky have correctly shown that Mandy is not a replacement for Kante. His defensive stats in France were very average, his distribution however was second highest in Ligue 1. He's more of a Drinkwater than Kante.
Ranieri also hinted that the club needed to find a replacement for Kante this week.
It's all rollocks its a preseason friendly and the first semi competitive match we have played in.
I can here all the pundits and the wums lining up to have a pop. does anyone think Ulloa was going to get goals no. Can we replace Kante no. We might have to play three in midfield this season to cover for that.
All in all a good PR execise with our colonial cousins and nothing to show what next season going to be like.
Wait till we have played 10 games and then lets see how good we are

Agree with Nev. We are not playing our strongest side, we are trialling different tactics and using this for fitness. Hardly an indication of how we will do in Europe.
I do think Vardy may take some time to get into the season however but that's normal with his injury
We're doomed. We're going to get relegated. We're awful!
In all seriousness though, but of a wake up call there. PSG looked about 10 levels above us. I hope it was just fitness but we did look a bit overwhelmed in that game.
I think we need to go at the champions league in the same way we approached last season. With nothing to lose or fear.
I don't want us to set up differently - play to our strengths and don't do an 'England'!!
A tough lesson but no need to panic. A year ago this week we drew 1-1 with Mansfield Town, with most of our top players making an appearance.........and last season turned out not too badly for us. Ever onwards. UTF.
Totally agree with Ian. Some good views there. And Ulloa is exactly that. Same with Schlupp. Good squad members. Although we had a good spell in the first half I thought Albrighton made a huge difference attack wise, even though he missed a glorious chance.
And BS, match sharpness is definitely clear to see. Hopefully we'll be better for it on Tuesday after today. As far as Vardy is concerned I don't think he needs games, just like he doesnt need the gym. He'll be ready.
No Kante, no Mahrez...Blackburn 2.0, shame really.
