you'd think it would be a no brainer but its wenger we are talking about. Cheaper & better option than Mustafi.

Would be happy signing him. There are better options out there but if £10m is true that's good value.

Would prefer him to Mustafi all day long. Experienced and reliable and can further 3-4 years on that level as well. Mustafi is a headless chicken with no technical ability. Awful.

Spanisch media reporting that we enquired about Vermaelen.

Vermaelen had the same problem Gabriel has. Neither of them are suited to partner Koscielny

WTF is wrong with Wenger. Williams is clearly a solid addition to the squad, yet he goes and buys players like Gabriel and Mustafi looks likely, that have zero PL experience and are useless.

What does he have against buying proven PL defenders?

Williams isn't even expensive.

Stupidity!

I was watching quite a few clips of Mustafi and hes basically just like Kos. Hes comes out to meet the ball or win it early. Thats just what Kos does and if i remember correctly 2 defenders like that don't work together.

Will probably re-sign Vermaelen and that'll be it for our transfer dealings.

If Wenger signs Vermalen, that would be great insult to fans...seriously how can you do that? Vermalen will spend half season in physio room...frustrating.

Gotta give our ex-players who thought the grass was greener a good retirement plan. RVP return coming soon.

Whilst Wenger is at the club, you lot are never gonna be happy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hard to be happy with a guy who makes the same mistakes over and over again. Would you be happy if Poch ballsed up in the same ways every season for over half a decade?

No and I agree / get what you're saying

however, I feel it has got to a stage with the Arsenal fans that whatever Wenger does, it irritates the masses.

it seems the fashionable thing these days; to hate Arsene Wenger but then again, I don't watch Arsenal on a weekly basis so my opinion is based on looking in from afar

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get you, people moan about everything on here. Think people are just fed up of players who'd improve us moving to other clubs for reasonable prices, whilst we dither and end up with panic signings on the cheap. When this happens every year it gets tiresome.
It's not just transfers though, everything is stale, the style of play is ineffective, selection policy is bizarre, tactics are predictable, injury record is appalling. The potential of the club won't be fulfilled whilst things remain as they are. (not just to do with the manager)

Another problem is that there are no football men above Wenger, or rather no one in power who actually cares about Arsenal being successful. We are nothing more than a money maker for a greedy owner...

Williams would have been a great signing a couple of years ago when we were interested. He would have done a better job than Gabriel did short term anyway.

Vermaelen failed at Arsenal the first time. At least when Flamini left us he was a starter that we wanted. When Barcelona called we bit their hand off while trying to keep a straight face.

If money is not a issue, why our transfer process takes that long?

How come City, Chelsea sign players from right left centre and we take ages?

When club says Wenger can spend £100m on players, why do we wait that long or why do we haggle and try to knock £5-6m off every single transfer?

Utterly ridiculous the way Arsenal operate. We are becoming laughing stock when it comes to signing players.

A laughing stock is Liverpool paying £35m for Carroll, or paying any money for Stuart Downing Or Spurs wasting all the Bale money on dross. We're just tight.

if you go buy a second-hand car at a dealership and the sales rep tells you this ford focus is going to be £20k

do you accept that or try get a better price?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it's advertised for £20k I would expect to pay anything up to that amount. If £20k was way over my budget I wouldn't even consider the car.

-----------
If i was a multi Millionnaire quite frankly i wouldnt really give a damn about haggling. If the price is 20k i pay 20k afterall what is a couple of thousand to me.

Haggling and wasting us time could end up costing us 3-6 points before the window closes and that could be the difference between 1st and 2nd or in Arsenals case 4th and 5th.
