My quality is far better through an android box than it ever was through a laptop.
Not a lot different to Sky HD tbh.

good to here all your comments, i have a android box fully loaded similar to the one on amazon, what would be really useful to me is a list of were to find what on a match day is this even possible, could some one post on this site on a match day of where to find the Spurs games, so an old fart like me doesnt get in a panic searching through 8 or 9 sites to find a game

Really useful thread. Bought a Kodi box recently and have used it for films but watching the Spurs games was the main purpose. Interested in the comments about vpn. Can someone explain what's required for this and how you set it up?

I have a zgemma box which doesn't stream, it just replaces my virgin box and gives me every channel virgin can offer including ppv. I also have iptv through my Samsung smart TVs which I pay £75 a year for someone to put me through their server and that offers me over 3000 channels and films including 3pm kicks offs at HD TVs quality. Streaming is only decent in my opinion if u pay to go through a server rather than just have the same as everyone else irrespective of your internet speed

OK.

A VPN is required, depending on geographic location in order to watch what you want.
Some ISPs, SKY in particular need to protect their investments, so they have software that tracks the sites which host/stream the football or films. They then block you from accessing that site.
A VPN hides what site you are visiting, so SKY are only aware of you accessing the VPN server. You can also access sites that are blocked from UK based servers.

There are many free ones all you need to do is go onto your pc or mobile device, search for VPNs and subscribe to the one you like.

On the VPN host's site will be instructions how to download the software onto your device; that device can be your mobile, pc and/or Android device (Kodi box)

You can then access the web on your Kodi box, download the VPN software and hey-presto. There are options on some where you can even choose the location of the server you want to connect to.
This is also good if you want to buy goods, say from non-UK Amazon, that they can't sell in the UK due to laws/restrictions.

Have fun

If you have a smart TV, as Stop in and tidy up said, you can subscribe for a year and get the SKY and BT football schedules.

£65/ year from these dudes...

Probably.

Some people report no issues, but I've known that without a VPN some really struggle.

VPNs slow your speed, but guarantee you can connect.

It's generally not much of an issue on Virgin. Generally with streaming it's always gonna fall short of a proper sky package to a lesser or greater extent. However if expectations are tempered, then some folk find it really good. Remember most of us have spent much of our lives watching football on low resolution CRT tellys.

Give it a go without a VPN.

There are some great free VPNs, limited for the deviants out there, but fantastic for watching streamed sports. Cyber Ghost is a popular one.

Remember, to help you sleep at night, it is not illegal.
The person who is steaming the media is being naughty, but it is not illegal to watch streamed content.

But just to disrupt your sleep a little, taking something that you should pay for for nothing is known as stealing.

Completely agree and the copyright owner (SKY in this instance) should do more to stop the deviants uploading their material onto the internet. They are the ones that are stealing.

SKY are well aware that if something is on the internet it is completely legal to watch it. They are well aware that you, the viewer are not breaking any law, whatsoever.

Recording it is a different matter.
