Don't remember the score, but seem to recollect Rooney made his debut against us, not sure if it was that game or not?
If Spurs were a big club then I would remember this as I only pay attention to big clubs

Well, this went well
Ragn@r, I don't even know where to start with this post. What defines a big club? Spurs have a large fanbase, have won numerous trophies down the years, are known worldwide and finished 3rd last season in the most-watched league in the world. I wouldn't say we're on the same level as the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, AC Milan, Juventus, Arsenal, Inter, PSG, etc, but by any definition we're a fairly big club.
2-2, Ferdinand and Etherington, 10th place, if anyone's interested. We actually got 10 points from the first four games but were our usual inconsistent selves after that. Unable to beat the big teams, losing too many games we shouldn't have been losing. We had an attractive to watch team in those days - as you'd expect from a Glenn Hoddle team. Davies, Keane, Sheringham, Redknapp, Poyet, Ledley King - but we were so unbelievably flaky and rolled over far too easily at times.
Mid-table mediocrity was our speciality in those days. Two third round exits in the cups also meant 2002-3 lacked any kind of excitement and the season was over, as usual, in early Feb.
I was young, but i remember the score only because it was the first time i watched The Premiership which was the show on ITV when BBC stopped Match of the day.
2-2...
Can't remember who scored bet would guess Ferdinand at that time... don't know where we finished most likely somewhere along the lines of 14th-10th

Not a bad guess then
2-2. No Google use and have scrolled straight past the other answers.
I think Poyet might have scored for us that day, and we also received a harsh red card?
As to where we finished, we weren't great in 02/03 but we were better than the season that followed. Abiding memories of that season were Keane's hat-trick vs Everton in the return game, Etherington's sackable lack of effort to track Henry's run at The Library.... And also the way we bent over at home to United as they marched towards the title, which left the Arsenal fans fuming!
Reckon we finished about 10-12th
That was Hoddle's last full season, got to be about 12th or so.
Got the tin tack after a flaky start in 2003/04. A 3-0 humping by Fulham early doors I think, Hayles running riot
it twas 2-2 tomas razinkski played a blinder no idea who scored for us. we were outplayed.
finished the season 10th i think. The epitomy of mid table as we were back then.
Best result i remember was a 2-1 win back in 2007 jenas last minute winner. Got out of work late, made the last possible train by seconds delayed all the way up to Liverpool and making the game with a minute to spare. Wet cold and miserable i was so fed up then Jenas pops up. scenes.
And it was Rooney's debut for Everton!

thought Rooney's debut was against the Woolwich where he scored that wonder strike from outside the box?

Rooney was an unused substitute in Everton's 1–0 away win over Southampton on 20 April 2002.[27] He made his senior debut on 17 August in a 2–2 home draw against Tottenham Hotspur,

No that was his first professional goal and the first of many goals he has scored against us over the years 😡
And Clive 'Roooooooneeey' Tyldesley has been getting hard ons whenever he shoots or scores in a game ever since that goal vs Arsenal.
