Come on Rovers

posted on 12/8/16

So difficult at this stage of the season to know how strong the opposition is, but they did only lose 2-1 AWAY to Wolves and they beat Wycombe in the first match, a top half team in 2015/16.

Forest looked very poor tonight against Brighton too, so not much consolation there.

I don't like to be pessimistic, but beyond a belief in potential and the hope that somehow for once they will sustain momentum for the 90 minutes plus, there is not a great deal to be confident about. If they crumble yet again something is seriously wrong in their mental attitude.

I need to be convinced and fear it might well end 1-1 with Marquis the scorer in the presence of a disappointed 5,500.

Sorry.

2-0 rovers

Marquis to score the first goal

Crowd 4832

I'll go with 2-1 for the Rovers with Marquis getting his first goal. The crowd is difficult as under 3,000 home fans were at the cup game. I'll go with 5234.

Today is the day we get the promotion party started. No doubt Crawley will park the bus and hope to catch us from set pieces or counter attacks.
2-0 Rovers, Andy Butler to score.
Crowd 4952.

My prediction. Taxi for Ferguson

posted on 13/8/16

Ferguson is seriously fooking up our season already.
Wing back system is a liar of crap.
Blair looks like a fish out of water and their left winger is going past him at will.
Mason on the other side looks dodgy too.
The whole team looks uncomfortable with the system and with the crowd on their backs again ghey are all frightened of making a mistake.
We have got to start playing with proper fullbacks.
FFS Ferguson, open your eyes.

At this rate he'll be gone by end of month. Not on the brightside but only Plymouth below us in table at moment.

I said last season in league 1 and ill say the same again Williams will not get us 20 goals. 3 games in and i havent seen this prolific striker we were hoping for. He snatches everything and did so on a few occassions today.

I agree about the system. Crawley clearly realised that Blair may be good coming forward but can't defend and kept pinging cross field balls into the RB zone behind him - leading to good crosses and their, comedy, goal. I was amazed when Ferguson keep the system and just replaced Wright with Lund at half time. Possibly he thought Lund would be nippy enough to get across to cover. Good goal from Copps, but after that Crawley shut the shop and despite 35 minutes of huffing and puffing Rovers couldn't break through. Taking off Calder, who was excellent, and bringing on Mandeville was a bold move, not because the latter played well, but because it seemed to give Williams more space. (Mandeville could have played like Pele but as I can't make out the shirt numbers on the new kit, I wouldn't have known.) I give Ferguson 8 more games before he gets the boot.

Lund didn't come on at half time.
It was part way through the second half when he came on for Calder.
We then went to a flat back four and once again we started to look half decent.
Blair played as a conventional RB.
Copps rolled back the years in the second half and Rowe looked good again after we changed the system.
I think Ferguson only changed it because Mason got injured and he had to.
Agree about Willuams, the one late on that he put in row z was just snatched at.
He gets quite a few opportunities to be fair but can't finish for toffee.
My money is on Fergie again starting with 3-5-2 on Tuesday and we will waste another half a game playing like a team with no idea.
Oh, WTF was Etheridge doing early on when nearly sliced that ball into his own goal?

In the Highlands, probably just as well.

Wish I was there Mooli anywhere away from these performances

Anyone heard about one of their players playing today who is supposed to be on a ban for getting 2 yellow cards. Apparently it was on the Crawley Web site saying today was his last game and he would be available to play in midweek.

Interesting BVZ.
If so would they get a points deduction or would we be awarded the win?
Or, more likely, would the FA do FA about it.

One of the good things about our performance today was the good corners we took.
One straight from training rehearsals produced the goal.
All the big lads went to the far post and Copps came to the near to shoot from the low ball played in.

Be interesting if it's true hound. Knowing our luck they'll get a points deduction and result will stay same. Would take a 3 nil win though. ...... if that was available 😂

The corner we scored from was a great move, tried it at Accrington but smashed into a player stood on the line.

Been told Williams is on thin ice with Fergie. Could be dropped to bench on Tuesday.
