Hope we land Roman Saiss he sounds like the perfect fit for the glaring hole that we have had in our defence for a long time now. A hard tackling holding midfielder praised for his ability to protect the back four who can fill in at CB if required. 26 years old, he just sounds too good to be true.
If this Alfie Mawson is as good as he sounds, along with CBJ that is probably the back 4 sorted. I think Batth and Doherty are both good enough for this league. Doc has proved his worth on both sides and Danny plays well when he doesn't have to worry about what his partner is doing. With Mawson alongside him and Saiss in front I reckon we could have one of the best defences in the league.
Get these two in and one more proven striker and we have to be in with a shout for promotion this season.

I'm not disagreeing with you Dances, just remarking that it was not very long ago that we were all praising our 3 young defenders, Iorfa, Hause and EEL, the first of these in particular.
I have never been particularly impressed with Hause or EEL but I do think Dominic will make a good player in the long run. I hope he still has a future with us.
Outs; Byrne, Evans, EEL, Williamson?, possibly Henry.
Ins; Saiss and another striker.
Never been particularly impressed by Hause, but he is an England U21 regular so must have something so would keep him as backup.
Loan out Ennis and Eno to get games provided Dicko comes back strongly and we get another striker.
Would love Rhodes, but suspect we won't get him. Austin is playing in the Prem so I suspect he won't want to step down so Bamford it is, then.

all for experience but 35 is too old

Agreed.
I like Iorfa and think he shows a lot of promise as a RB with the pace to get forward and support the winger. I have never been so convinced by him as a CB although that is supposed to be his primary position.
I think EEL is the best CB of the 3. He's big and strong and I believe all he needs is a run of games alongside an experienced CB to make him the finished article.
Kortney Hause does not, and has not ever impressed me.
If we have a first choice of Doherty, Batth, Mawson & CBJ with EEL and Iorfa as subs and Saiss also able to fill in, I reckon we have all the defenders we need.
Our Keano retires from Internationals.

Rhodes would be a great catch Cyp but like you, I don't think we will land him.
Patrick Bamford has been coming to Wolves so many times in the past that sometimes I forget that he is not actually on the books.
If we can't get Rhodes I would like to see us go for Arouna Kone. He's not getting a look in at Everton and if he could be persuaded to drop down a division I think he would be a massive bonus buy.
Failing him we could always try for a loan deal for Chuba Akpom. He's young but has the right background to do a job for us. Can't see Wenger giving him much first team action this season and would probably be pleased to get him out on loan to a Championship side with real (and realistic) ambitions.
If you watched Hause play for England u23 you would pay good money for him. But for Wolves he has hardly impressed at all in the last year.
I have always felt iorfa could make the grade but I do think it would help if him and Walter agreed what his best position is and stick to it. Switching between full back and full back won't help him imo
Eel to me has looked better than Hause for Wolves in the last year
One week to go in the transfer window. We still need a striker, anything more would be a bonus
The Bury Times reporting that they hope to bring in a couple of players before the end of the transfer window but that their keeper Jack Ruddy will complete his transfer to Wolves this week
