The thing with GTAV for me is that, a year or so down the line, I can't remember a single mission from it.
I don't remember the mission that frustrated the hell out of me.
I don't remember the mission where I kept dying right at the end.
I don't remember the mission that was so much fun that I wanted to do it again as soon as I'd finished it.
That's because those missions didn't exist. It felt like the missions were there more often than not to simply progress the story and nothing more.
It's a shame because it's a terrific game otherwise - they just didn't put enough craft and skill into the missions.
Whereas I'll remember that Vice City mission where you fly the RC helicopter in order to blow up that building till the day I die.
And the ending mission was pretty kickass.
Exactly my thoughts, Igor. The only missions I remember were the frustratingly boring or disappointing ones - driving like 6 miles in that lorry with the cars on the back listening to pretty dull dialogue, taking forever to pilot the sub with Trevor.
And the missions which should have been cool, like breaking into the FBI with a helicopter which should have been really cool was just too linear and dull.
Whereas I'll remember that Vice City mission where you fly the RC helicopter in order to blow up that building till the day I die.
that was hideous
Also: "you were supposed to follow the damn train CJ"
Saints Row 1 and 2 were on par with Vice City
