Yeah he definitely improved Barca, into the best club team of all time.
I think they have a very good team but I have found the reaction to the weekends result way over the top.
The fat bloke on Sunday Supplement talked about how Pep has already revolutionised the english game with his use of a keeper as a sweeper and the ability to pass the ball across the back 4 - Liverpool have been doing that for 2-3 years now (albeit with dopes like Mignolet)
They'll hit a rut eventually.
Pogback
I respect your opinion but I don't agree with you this time
Metro
I think the media reaction is what's getting up my nose
Peps Barca 2009-2011 are the greatest team of our generation and probably the best since the Milan side of the early 90s......Keep hating they are still reaping the rewards of his work today.
There certainly has been a difference in City's tactics since he's joined. You can also notice his modus operandi on their play.
Too early to state anything else.
What part of it don't you agree with? He immeasurably improved them and they are one of if not the best club team of all times. Not much to disagree with.
Not to mention the affect it had on the success of the Spanish national team 2012-14 who adopted the style
And Germany, since he moved to Bayern.
To be fair Barca weren't really the dominant side they are today before he took over.
A huge overhaul including moving on club legends such as Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Deco was a serious shock at the time but benefitted them in the long run.
His work at Munich wasn't that amazing though, didn't Heynckes do the treble the year before Guardiola joined?
Barcelona the two seasons before Pep:
League Finishes:
2nd and 3rd with the 3rd being 18 points behind madrid
Champions League:
Round of 16 and Semi-Final
Copa Del Rey:
Semi-Final Both Times
Two Seasons With Pep:
League Finishes:
1st and 1st
Champions League:
Won and Semi-Final
Copa Del Rey:
Won and Round of 16
So yes its fair to say Pep cleary improved Barcelona
Its slightly more nuanced at Bayern but loads of the players, officials and journalists think he improved the team and gave them wonderful football. He did, in a sense, fail in the Champions League but came up agaisnt three superb teams and only lost to Aleti last year by a small margin
Bayern fair enough, but he improved Barcelona a hell of a lot. That team wasn't being talked about as one of the greatest of all time before he took over.

he in the most part inherited that team though. Didnt improve them too much imo.
I think its hard to argue against him being a top manager.
I cannot wait until October 2nd.
spurs v city at the lane.
Can't help but feel though that any success he brings to City these season will be a little overshadowed by the huge net spend. I think he knew he had an aging squad though and needed to bring in some of the top young talent hence the overinflated fees for Stones and Sane and the like.
People find it so easy to make sweeping statements , IN MY OPINION only MY opinion there have been so many better club sides that Peps Barca
I'm not saying he's a poor manager just that the media hav gone way over the top with him....I think he MAY have made a mistake with his keeper , oly time will tell
As for City we are not there yet and you won't see the best of us for another season IMO but great start.
As for Pep please don't question him it makes you sound very stupid go comment on some "Ladbible" posts where your comments will reach a more suitable audience

Name some better club sides than Peps Barcelona this should be a laugh even Fergie said they are the best side he's ever come up against
Squid,
Sometimes you just have to accept that people / teams are very good!
it's unquestionable that he improved Barca, and made them the best team in the world.
He's just getting started at City but the signs are there that they are going to be a fantastic team.
He's bought a lot of players, but that's the game these days. I have no problem admiring players / managers / teams that are at the very top of their game, which Pep is.
There is too much media hype, but it's 2016, it's just what happens.
So many? Lol, name three.

Nah, last years Barca side was better.
He's certainly fanning the hype by going to Old Trafford and outclassing a resurgent Mourinho-led United team.
Took Barca to unforeseen levels. Perfect players for his system though.
I'm unsure on his time at Bayern. I expect him to win titles with City though. Great squad and I think the style will be too much for most of the PL.
They need to start putting games to bed though, could easily have dropped points against us Saturday. Same for the Sunderland game where Moyes took of Defoe when they were threatening to sit in their own box for 15 minutes.
"Kept his Barca side ticking over"
The Barca side he took over hadn't won the league in 3 seasons. He led them to the treble, and had them playing some of the best football seen.

AC Milan of the late 80s and early 90s would probably get a shout, although we did not have the coverage we do now.
