Celtic have more supporters clubs across the world than most Premier League clubs; and that's without the large numbers of plastic fans that Premier League clubs get.
I think a debt-free club like Celtic, with existing global appeal and top class facilities could easily compete in the Premier League should it receive hundreds of millions of pounds in television money.

Celtic are a big club with a great fan base, no doubt. Unfortunately for Celtic their time to be compared alongside Premier League teams has come and gone. The gulf in quality is too large now and they'd be eaten alive in the PL before they had time to set down any real foundations.
I think Newcastle is a fair comparison.

But aren't there quite a few English teams with existing global appeal and top facilities.
Everton, Villa & Newcastle have all had PL TV money, but haven't managed to become huge.

It's a fair point.
But I think managed in the right way over a period of a few years then it'd be possible to be in and around where the likes of Spurs and Liverpool have been over the last few years. Top six, occasionally breaking into the top four.
Only difference I'd make is that Celtic currently post profits on the little money we already have; the teams you mentioned before have all had ownership problems.
It's so hypothetical though- who's to say our owner wouldn't sell up right away and hand the club to someone that'd trash our finances.
My point was that Celtic's global appeal is much larger than is recognised, mainly due to North American emigration from Scotland and Ireland over years.
Wouldnt be surprised if Celtic were close behind
Utd and liverpool
Big club Celtic They'd already be looking forward to their parachute payment if they were in the Premier League. Never met a Celtic fan who wasn't Scottish, and I've lived in/visited global cities. Seen more Crystal Palace shirts than Celtic.

Id go with this too. Wouldn't they have the 2nd biggest stadium in the league if they were in? With the obscene prem millions and marketing exposure they would quickly rack up a very large fan base.
Henrik's Forehead,
Good points.
Well they'd start off as a higher end mid table team, simply because in terms of money they'd already be behind.
They'd have the potential to move into the top 4 given the size and stature of the club, but it would still require a lot of work and may never materialise if the club isn't run well.
Stop saying blue chip you idiot.

Only Scots support Celtic?
All this traveling yet you've never met anyone Irish it seems.
Lets say FA did allow Scottish league to join in...Celtic would have to start from the bottom like the rest and most likely will easily move till championship where they would need a strong management and club direction to push them into Prem.
Now they have actually reached the Prem, they will add a bit of English vs Scots rivalry and drama to Prem which would make Prem even more interesting.
Also they’d have huge advantage in Scotland itself and its terrible weather..It would probably become the toughest away game for most teams.
Slowly they’d probably claim the mid table spots but I don’t think they would ever challenge Top four position as they are too far behind and impossible to topple the current bunch who are currently in ‘rebuilding’ phase yet to hit the prime.
Only way they could challenge would be Sugar daddy.
But alas not of this will happen as they won’t be allowed into Prem and so they will rot up north and be mentioned in same breath as some club from Estonia.
Travel round Europe and in every town there'll be an Irish pub and behind every bar there will nearly always be a replica football shirt.
And that shirt will be either Liverpool, Man U or Celtic.
Don't think I've ever seen an Arsenal shirt in all my travels. Only other obvious football allegiance I've seen was earlier this year in Vienna. The club is called Chelsea.
The owner is a Chelsea supporter, just in case any of you were wondering about this
Clearly if dropped straight in we'd struggle and be fighting against relegation. But due to the history of the club and the already worldwide fanbase in places like America, Australia and other places heavily influenced by Scots/Irish diaspora the potential is there to grow massively as the club is engrained in that culture. Also could pull some Asian fans because of past players like Nakamura and Ki so a fair share of that. Rodgers probably isn't wrong.
It'll never happen and to be honest I'm not really interested in pulling in glory hunting fans anyway even if it means more money and a shot at PL and CL glory. Wouldn't want to risk us losing our culture and identity or what's the point in following a club?

Genuinely sounds like an amazing twist to the PL! I like the idea of an away trip to Glasgow.
Can't we just chuck Celtic in to the FA Cup as a prize for winning the SPL? I'd like a bit of Eng vs Scot rivalry.
Just out of interest is there anyone on here that was a fan before the PL era? How do you feel about owners like Gazidis? Arsenal are actually run well compared to most PL clubs but he doesn't seem to care about the club at all. Abramovic, The Glazers and some of Liverpool's owners have been pretty terrible too, not to mention the loonballs at clubs like Cardiff and Hull.
We had dodgy owners for a time and I'd never want anyone in charge of Celtic again who don't have a strong connection to the club previously.
1 Man Utd
2 Chelsea
3 Man City
4 Arsenal
5 Liverpool
6 Totts
7 Everton
8 Celtic
This would be the order I think
Lex I live in Europe and you're talking nonsense. I saw a Chelsea shirt on Sunday (hah) here in Hannover. I regularly see Arsenal shirts. I walk passed a billboard with Mesut Özil in one every day on the way to work. People can often be seen in PL shirts, even ones like Everton.

Arsenal's owner is Kroenke. Not a fan of him to be honest. Don't like the fact that he takes £3m out of the club every year for 'services'. The trajectory of his American teams should be a cause for concern, but I don't think that Arsenal will end up like his American franchises.
Arsenal are nothing but an investment for him. That is how it comes across.
Celtic get £3m a year for winning the SPFL and we went toe to toe with the best England has to offer and then some.
If you really believe Celtic with over £100m a year from sky wouldn't make a difference in the PL you are deluded. As has been said tho we are more than just a club and if we sold our soul to make more money i'd be disgusted,we are a Scottish club end of and proud of it.
I'd put Celtic only below United, LFC and Arsenal, but a bigger club than the rest
Also if Celtic were to enter the PL, they'd struggle to finish in the top half during the first season and maybe the second, but theyd eventually become one of the permanent top 8 or so.. eventually
Nights like the other night at Celtic park will be a thing of the past in the near future the way football is going(unfortunately for us) UEFA would prefer half empty stadiums like man citys just because they have mega bucks.Sad but true.
