It'll all fall apart if/when they get to senior level.
And the circle is complete.
Anyone got any tips about getting some 3rd party ownership
Rhian's a girls name, surely.

This.
As soon as they start to get paid, 95% of them will just think they have made it.
At that age some of lads tend to very quick and physically bigger but as they get older the pace and physique advantage becomes less and more skill is needed. That's where most England youth players get found wanting.
I don't think it's just that, though. It's the issue of integrating them into the team at the top clubs. Chelsea are the best example of this.
Nigeria would be grate if youth football meant anything.
Dunno really, think the standard of technical ability is improving in the English youth systems.

Agreed.
As good as Rashford has been, I think he is an example of what could happen if youth players are actually given a chance.
Its unlikely he would have seen the light of day for United (not yet, anyway) had Martial not pulled out minutes before the United v Midgetland game.
Just look at how he has prospered though. He was probably 7/8/9th in line for the CF position before that game. And I could be wrong, but I don't think he was an outstanding (really outstanding) player in the youth teams.
Their agents will ruin them by the time they are 16. They will make them into money greedy prima donnas that wear those sparkling earings like little girls
Rashford as good as he has been does not have a left foot to save his life. Owen who Rashford is compared to a lot was another who was poor with his left foot. Other than Lallana how many two footed players do we have?
Unfortunately. About half of that England team is made up of City's 'golden generation'.
Barf
Interesting point on how Rashford was viewed in the youth teams at United.
Don't recall him ever being as highly rated as James Wilson or Januzaj.
Both good examples of players that haven't been able to build on promising starts to their senior career as well.

Amazing to think that rashford only got in because Keane got injured. Be interesting to know what the timetable was for rashfords promotion to the senior squad or was he possibly earmarked for a loan move
Doubt it, he was promoted to the under 21's because all our options up front had been loaned out.
Angel Gomes stats this season for club and country 10 starts 1 sub appearance 8 goals 9 assists
Only just turned 16
Maybe the talent is there, and always has been, just its far easier to buy short term rather than think long term and put up with the possible trade off of inconsistency, inexperience etc.. and potential young 1st team players don't see the light of day, or at the very least have their progress stunted.
Possibly, though timing is just as crucial. Rashford being an obvious case. But then look at someone like Pique, he had Rio and Vida to contend with.
As usual with England we pack the team full of fast growers who are strong and quicker but by the time they reach professional age the other teams have caught up physically and are better technically.
Not sure about other teams but i used to watch alot of LFC u18s/u21's games when ngoo, adam morgan etc were around, todays youth sides just seem on a different level in terms of technical ability to a few years ago
dunno chelseas youth teams are usually winning trophies and such, its still pretty dire to watch that level most the time.
Not sure that's still the case with England youth teams. It's a bit of a cliche.
