Are you not allowed to be against gay marriage, then?
To be clear, I'm for it, but I understand the reasons people wouldn't be and am not offended by them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed
Why is being against gay marriage wrong. How do you measure morality?
Ffs stop insisting that everyone has to share these same liberalist views. If someone opposes gay marriage, get over it. It's their choice

The two arguments I've come across are to @its against my religious beliefs" and "it's just my opinion".
The first should have no place in politics and law making. The second is a cop out for people who know they are a bit bigoted but don't want to come out and say it.
Of course, that's just my experience. There may be other reasons
"What basis for opposing gay marriage is ok?"
What do you mean 'is ok' ? Doesn't matter. It's about allowing people to have their own opinions. I'm all for gay marriage, why not, but I don't get offended if people have a different opinion. I'd hate a world where everyone was forced to think one government-enforced way only.
The religion point is interesting. If you are going to start legislating in terms of what religions are allowed to teach, what's the point of having them in the first place?

Religions should be free to teach as they wish. It's like a membership club having their own rules.
I don't think religious beliefs have a place in the laws of the land however. That seems divisive.
society has evolved, ethically, over time. Religion less so.
So again, anti gay marriage, from my experience is religious based. Find if that's your thing but we mostly live in secular countries with a different ethics code.

👏🏾 Well said.
As for measuring morality, people really need to think about this in depth. How can you truly define morality when everyone has different opinions and values of it? How would we know what a kilogramme is if there wasn't an original standard by which to measure and compare with? People could just guess or make it up as they go along. Morality is no different, there has to be a standard and since morality varies between people, I don't believe that this original standard came from us (people).
As for the election: woe for everyone. I wouldn't care less if the result meant little to anyone outside of the US but whoever wins is going to be one of the most powerful people on the planet and will have a huge influence on future global events and neither candidate gives me any hope for any sort of positivity, Trump less so. I feel sorry for anyone not voting for either of these pawns.

Think it's more complex than that. Wouldn't say Hillary Clinton was against equality just because she didn't believe in gay marriage.

Not sure who you are trying to convince but I'm for Hillary - certainly the better of the two evils.

Pretty much. Shame the Democrats choose their nominee the way they do. A genuine socialist like him could have done a world of good for America.

Trump is a trumpet and horid human, like Hilary, of Iraq war fame, and anti-Rusian warmongering now
However, many working class Americans are alienated from the political globalist elite, and Trump cons them, imo.
In the Uk and Europe, a similar theme is present, hence brexit and nationalist movements, or populist parties.
Millions of people now feel out of it, politically.
Is Sizzle endorsing racist and homophobic Hilary then? black men are super predators are they?
