Top assessment mate. It can't all be down to Itoje not being there. If it was, then you'd have a massive problem.

You have played two rubbish sides and not really looked that great in either game. I told you Boks were poor and they proved that again in Rome. The Fiji result is pretty meaningless really.

Compared to the 6N and the Australia tour I'd actually say England have gone backwards, or at least they are very much a work in progress. Not even sure if the Argies will be that much of a real test by which to measure. They haven't really been up to snuff this time. I mean, even we beat them in a turgid match.

I lok forward to you telling us that you thought the all blacks werent up to much, and in spite of the win england looked pretty terrible and like theyre going backwards

This isn't a round ball board and the 'banter' is very different. You have to know something of what you're talking about. An attitude of England good, everyone else bad just doesn't cut it on here like it would on a Spurs or Arsenal board.

That's not being antagonistic, sarcastic or any form of wummery, just informing you that the etiquette is different. You are very welcome to make sensible comments and engage in the repartee and badinage, but not like this.

Nowell is the best winger we have by a distance for me, I'm hoping he takes over from Brown at FB in the next year or so.

i like the idea of Daly at 15 with Watson and Nowell on the wings going forward, Daly's a better footballer for me in terms of playing FB

If it carries on as it is, this is a crazy good result for England

Agree with Edin. Fantastic win for England.

Very difficult game for us, impressive how we managed to impose our game on them despite being a man down all game. Really stupid from Daly, completely deserved red which was one of the only things I thought the ref got right. Terrible news that Binny got injured, he makes such a difference to our pack. Harrison was terrible, I hope he doesn't see another England shirt after that. I thought May (despite some poor positioning) had his best game for England. JJ was outstanding in defence, a massive reason we dealt with what Argentina threw at us. He is the best defensive OC in the world for me. Should have got MotM.

Now for the real test, looking forward to it.

I was listening to the radio last night and the Welsh weren't pleased with victory over the Boks. Saying they should have really put a weakened side to the sword. Given their record against SA, any win should be celebrated - shouldn't it?

The Boks are poor to the point of being rank rotten.

My only regret is that we didn't get a shout at them.

For us yesterday, the second half was what were have expected, thank God for the first half and Stuie Hogg.

I thought we were on a hiding to nothing with Georgia have 6N aspirations, and thought we dealt with that pressure very well.

Bonus point system incorporated into the 6N from next year. Might encourage better rugby but as a traditionalist I don't like it. In theory someone could win a GS and not get title.

comment by bomdia (U13941)

That could not happen, the minimum someone could get from 5 wins with no bonus points would be 20, add 3 for winning the GS giving 23. The most another team could get would be 4 wins at 5 points + 2 losing bonus points giving 22. The 3 points for winning the GS is the key.

posted on 30/11/16

Hadn't seen the bonus for a GS when I posted it. Still don't like it though.

posted on 30/11/16

Posted on RKWs new thread about it. I don't like it either. It's OK to be boring as long as you're winning. Lose one game and you're out of it. We've grown used to exciting final weekends. With this, all the focus will be on one match. Not good.

Usual points system, yes please, but the GS bonus it's a poor idea.

Someone made the point of a team could win all 5 games but not score the BP for tries, a team might lose once but thrash the other four teams and win the 6N by getting the BPs. Not sure why they've changed the points system in all honesty but let's see what happens this year.

RKW, Bomdias post above explains why that wouldnt happen

Yes, what I am getting at is a team could there win 4 and lose 1 but still win the 6N if the 3 Slam points weren't there.

Will England equal the 14-game winning record today? Should be an interesting one.

England have been below usual Eddie Jones' standards all autumn for me, can't be easy with the amount of injuries, theyre lucky they have great depth and that they've played less than stellar sides in the Springboks and Fiji, the Argentina game was just a grind out result in which they were excellent
