It's an interesting point about how important a good defence is to a side, and maybe it's not all that important at all!
I'm looking at Wigan, who have conceded just 15 - and are second from bottom, and Norwich, who have conceded more - 18, and they're second from top!
We've conceded 16 - so not too shabby. Brighton and Ipswich have concede the fewest in the division - both with 9 against.
The most conceded is by Rotherham, who are rock bottom, so goals against clearly play a part there.
I suppose the old adage of simply scoring more that the opposition is what it's all about!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The most interesting stat that I can come up with is that we are 16th in the league. We have 16 points. We have scored 16 goals. We have conceded 16 goals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is spooky!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And the message is.....
It has all come to nothing.

I'm still reading my Clough biography. He got married, then had to rush off from the reception to catch the bus to play a home game for Middlesborough.
It's a better life for footballers these days - certainly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More recent example was when Bully stayed up all night to be present at his wife giving birth, then the following morning drove himself to Norwich to play for Wolves, and scored
DJ, I thought Bully was at Norwich when the call came so went back home and then back to Norwich after the birth, maybe I remember it wrong, through the mists of time and all that.
Congratulations Mr Jackett on the new job.
Please come and take Edwards and Stearman off our hands.
Good old Jenny. We'll see him back at Molineux in March next year when we will be one of the top teams in the division and he will still be fighting relegation.
At least it will be an education for him, he'll be able to see how attacking football is played.
Best of luck to Kenny. Thoroughly decent guy and did a decent job for us. No manager would have done better with the squad he had last season. In fact even with a multi million pound overhaul in the summer we are rarely seeing better this season
All the best KJ, except against us of course.
I'm sure KJ will be get a warm welcome back at Molineux, I wonder if his successor will be around to shake his hand?
I wish him well in his new appointment and did a good job for us. Didn't deserve the flack he got from some on here.
He was a top manager who had to work with tight owners and rubbish players. It has been the same wherever he has managed.
It will always be like that. It will never be his fault.
Well done Kenneth
Good luck to KJ. He was always very civil and diplomatic, and in that way was just what the club wanted after the turmoil that had preceded his ppointment. Can't ever remember him throwing a wobbly. He won't make any waves at Rotherham, but just might keep them up.

Lloyd Dyer of Burton ripping Birmingham to shreds - who would go third with a win tonight.
What a terribly poor league this is. The gap between 17th in the Premiership and 03rd in the Championship is huge.
