How the mighty have fallen. Any fan happy with that performance yesterday should take a hard look in the mirror.

I've not taken anything, it's an honest opinion.

That was a typical Jose set up at Anfield, it's just the fact that usually he's had better players to hit us on the break.

I had it as a 1-1 on the prediction thread and wasn't to disappointed with a point as these aren't the games that will trouble us getting top 4, it's the WBA, Burnleys, Boro's that we have to start winning.

It's just hilarious watching fans of a club that is used to winning everywhere and everything, playing good football going to what I witnessed last night and thinking it's good enough.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Kolo you have to take to context into the equation. Jose is only a few months in and was under some pressure coming into the game, a loss and they're 6 points off us, the draw keeps them right in touch with City and Spurs having also drawn.

Arsenal the big winners this weekend.

It's might be an honest opinion, but it comes across as a bit of an angry "we lost, I'm not happy, so what can I say to bait United fans," in retort to this post which is so obviously designed to bait Liverpool fans.

I actually agree with a good number of the points you've made. I wasn't delighted with the tactics and approach last night, and I'll never reconcile myself with playing to avoid a defeat rather than to win.

I don't for one second think last night was good enough to justify what we've spent, and for a club of our stature.

That being said, I'll take a point at Anfield any day of the week, and not many teams will stop you from scoring at home this season, regardless of how they set up. I just hope last night isn't a blue print for how we will approach all of the big away games, or we are in for a rather tedious season.

You're a better team than us at the moment. Right now I would bit your hand off for a fourth placed finish.

I'm just putting up some quotes, sometimes it's quite an eye opener to see what all the experts have to say

--------------------------------------------------

Are people not allowed to make predictions anymore?

Should Liverpool fans not have felt confident going into the game?

If United had been playing like Liverpool had been and vice-versa, I'd have been confident.

I don't see what point you're trying to make here.

We all get predictions wrong.

The whole anti football tag that's been thrown at united isn't really relevant or fair at this point of the season, like if united play like this way and get good points on the road, and follow them up with good home perfomances like say Leicester, and this get's top 4 then performances liek last night are worth it.

Should they not do the job at home and end up outside the top 4 then maybe you can throw that line at them, but right now I don't see how theny can be criticised.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
a good point well made.

great how certain fans are ignoring the fact that united had 40 shots on goal in their previous 2 PL games, or that jose has played this season with pogba and fellaini in CM with 3 attackers and a striker ahead of them, but because some smart @rse posts a screenshot of last night with 6 men behind the ball somehow jose has killed off football (again).

It wasn't great, and if jose plays that way 38 times a season we can all throw the toys from the pram, but the sad fact is that right now united aren't great, and if they have to grind their way to top 4 rather than blast their way there so be it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
exactly, last night's performance is only relevant if it's replicated across the season and the eventual points tally gained.

I'd take a performance liek that and a point at OT as long as we tried to play the way we can in other games.

If Jose tried to play an open game and we won 3-0 then he'd be under huge pressure this morning, this way fans are happy to take the point and move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.

I've always said in the big away games, get a result, no matter how ugly. The rest of the time try and play good winning, football, which is by and large what Jose has done his entire career. If there's any football fan that says they wouldn't take that is on another planet.

OP
you must be so proud to prove all these pundits wrong with a fantastic 0-0 draw at Anfield.

Congrats.

Mourinho must hate anything to do with LVG

Mourinho has yet to match a league result of LVG from last season.

posted on 18/10/16

Last 2 league games at Anfield Liverpool didn't score this year where against Man Utd Shame Ibrahimovic bottled it.

Are you serious? I can't tell.

posted on 18/10/16

I only wish José had played for less than 35% possession.

Liverpool would have been so dominant they'd have scored a minus amount of goals.

José was too attacking and it cost us a -2 or -3-0 win.

The stats you need to know

This is only the second time in Premier League history a meeting between these sides has finished 0-0 (also September 2005).
This is Mourinho's lowest points total after his first eight league games with a new club since his stint with Uniao de Leiria (10 points).
United had two more points at this stage last season under Louis van Gaal (16) than they do this season (14).
Liverpool have failed to score in only two of their 18 home Premier League games under Klopp - both against United.
After scoring with four of his first 15 shots in the Premier League, Ibrahimovic has failed to find the net with any of his past 26 in the competition.
.....
I knew Ibra shocking form is costing us many points.

Plenty of United pundits predicted the same scenario. United fans themselves were fearing the worst. All it shows us is that this particular fixture is impossible to call. I don't think anyone is surprised by Mourinho's tactics either. Two things stood out for me last night that I wasn't exactly expecting, Liverpool's lack of composure and United's lack of ambition. All in all though, it's a good point for both sides when you actually look at the performances but my days... what a god awful match.

I think we were quite fortunate in the sense that liverpools attackers all seemed to have an off day.

It's not fortunate. They are inconsistent and always have been.

I'm not sure what your problem is. Everyone's entitled to their opinion on how they think a game will pan out. There's nothing outrageous in anything you've posted.

It's all too easy to pick holes in what people say, with hindsight. Poor article.
