Sorry to invade this thread. Jerome sounds like a nice guy...
Rovers fan here, can anyone let me know if Dann prefers to play left centre or right centre of defence? Sorry for posting here, but the question does not need or deserve a thread of its own.
Feel sorry for you guys watching all your best players being sold for below market value. The blues fans I know have said we have got an absolute bargain with Dann for 6 mill or so!
Having read what CJ has said I think it gives an insight into what the players thought in general.
If they had no confidence in the owners then it really shows what a sorry state this club has become. IThankfully we also got rid of McLeish and with CH in charge and the squad we have now things don't look too bad.
To the Blackburn fan. Thanks for the inquirey about Dann. Imo if he isn't worth a thread of his own you don't hold him in much esteem. With a little homework on your new player you might find what your looking for.
i think fans gave Jerome a lot of stick, for me he had many flaws and the way we played him i dont think would help develop his flaws, he was just not suited to a lone Striker role as a single Striker he was useless, and i think worse with the service the lad got or lack of, a better Striker would have done better but still not been a miracle due to ecks poor tactics.
Shows by Eck would have sold Jerome that McLeish would have looked to improve the lone Striker rather than his tactics thank god Big Eck has gone
As for Jerome when played with Chucho he had his best season, under Bruce he played more in 4,4,2 than under Eck and Jerome did not bad.
If Stoke use him as a foil for another Striker then Jerome would be effective, i dont think Stoke would use him on his own and with no service and support and think the move was the best for all parties.
I hope Jerome proves me and others wrong as if he does that would just highlight how poor McLeish's tactics was at Blues.
As for our future who knows, we just got to go with the flow, come what may. Right now being a Championship club would be a result and what i feel this club is, thanks Jerome for saying we should be a Top 10 club but i think Blues are not that big a club.
It would be great to get back to being in the Prem and yes i guess Stoke have shown what could have been done and i dont think Stoke are a much bigger club than Blues so we could have gone that same path.
If only Sully and Gold had the ambition of Yeung, or that Yeung had the cash Sully and Gold had, and if we got rid of Eck at Xmass
Good Luck CJ
As for Dann he can play either RCB or LCB makes no difference, £6M+ addons a bargin trust me when you look at what you made on Jones and then how well Dann would do you guys will be all the way to the bank
I rate Dann to be within the Top 4-5 CB in England as of now and think he would be ideal replacement for Terry in a few years.
The KiD
After watching Terry last night I think he needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.
Not by Dann of course but there are other players playing for top clubs who could fill that position...
OOJW, Dann is a good centre halve and is better than Johnson who has gone to wolves.
However i don't think he will be enough to save you this season, from what I have seen of Blackburn this season they look like the worst team I have seen in the premiership for some time and one defender isn't going to solve all of your problems.
You need somebody to put the ball in the back of the net, Jason Roberts isn't the answer.
Back on topic, as previously said I think we will miss Jerome and he goes with my blessing. He gave his all when asked to doa job by Mcliesh and didn't put in a transfer request and engineer a move out of the club.
Good luck Jerome.
Jerome has been a loyal servant to the club who did what he was told. He never ruffled feathers and put his head down and got on with it.
You cannot ask for more in a professional footballer. Top bloke.
Fair play to him. Would have been easy for him to slag the club off now he's back in the prem but he's actually talking sense. Not blessed with the most talent but always gave his all and he never stood a chance last season with our tactics. Wish him well and will give him a clap next time he's down blues.
Fair comment
Couldnt hit a barn door with Banjo at theend of his spell with us but always gave 100% every single game, stayed away from the wrong type of publicity, role model on how to 'behave' as a footballer.
Good luck to the lad
At least he didnt have a go at the club like Bowyer has been doing on SSN but then Cameron isnt that sort of bloke, he is a decent human being first and foremost, a quality that will serve him well long after he has left the world of football.
KRO
He is a top bloke, commited player who is not greedy, pitty he is gone as used as a support Striker to create space for a partner or someone to throw on after 60-70mins he would always had been usefull.
Used as a lone Striker he would not had been good enough, especially the way Eck played his 4,5,1
He would do well to create space at Stoke with either Jones or Crouch.

Jerome also goes on to say we have a good chance of Promotion, and indeed he is right i think we are just a decent player for upfront, midfield, and defence away from a good side, maybe 1-2 more boddies for cover.
Loan/Bring in 2 decent midfield say Koumass and Guthrie or Aaron Ramsey on loan would be class.
Loan/Bring in 1-2 Strikers (depends on Zigics fitness and commitment)
Loan/Bring in 1-2 defenders and we are sorted i recon.

I'm gonna miss jerome told him so on twitter about tactics etc too! He was nice enough to give me a re-tweet and a reply and agreed with me!
But on the other subject......what has bowyer been saying on sky because I take it he was bigging up the david's cos they're buzzing with themselves on twitter!!
Never had a problem with Jerome as far as his work rate and proffesionlism he always had time for the fans, so did some others like Tiny Taylor, Larsson, Forsell, Bowyer, Hart, Foster and Carr.
Ridgewell and Johnson with fans they was ok, but not as open or fan friendly as the above. Kapo was ok aswell.
Not like McFadden and a few others who never had much time for the fans.

well said cj..
but i can ask for alot more of a pro footballer - as stated somewhere above - one is to be a good footballer - as for the rest of it doesn't matter - they all have nothing to do with real life anymore..
