The club can release more information than they have given on this matter

In most instances, the line "suspended with pay" or "suspended without pay" are given, that's not even been communicated

Last time his suspension was extended, it was said to be at the request of the player.....what's the reason this time?

It's rumbling on far too long, I may have lost patience a tad early, but FFS, how bloody long does it take to discipline the cant and make a decision on hunting him or not?

He hasnt trained, played or done anything for or with the club for over a month and a half, simply saying he is suspended indefinitely until further notice is a cop out

I don't get why Stevie gets a hard time on here.

Can see where Stevie is coming from regards how murky this whole thing has been.

But obv disclosing someone's private business isn't proper, certainly not cumpulsory and shouldn't ever be expected.

However, the whole farce is just dragging on and no one knows anything despite it being a media (social and national) talking point for over a month.

Barton has brought the very circus some feared he would and those who condemned his signing have been proven correct.

I expect he'll leave in Jan. But we can't have 3 months of silence when our marquee summer signing gets suspended by the club and doesn't train or kick a ball in that time.

"WTF is going on with Joey Barton?
Cant has been suspended for bloody ages now
Sod all comment coming from the board or manager on the situation"

They've told you he's suspended, what more do you want? If it's a disciplinary matter they won't be obliged to tell anyone anything as it is between the employer and employee.

The real reason though is that they haven't got a fvcking clue what to do with him so are desperately stalling for time with the extended suspension (on full pay no doubt).

What a ridiculous post. Perhaps you think the Board should transmit such meetings "live" on Rangers TV ? Well, do you ?

And how would you know this then?

Although it's ridiculous to suggest his personal and financial details should be released you do have some form of point in the rest.

This is an absolute farce but it's clear as day what Rangers are doing.

They can't sack him so by continuing to suspend him they are hoping he will do something silly or just simply ask for his contract to be ripped up.

All this does is leave Rangers open to criticism for all quarters though and it's no one's fault but their own

Rangers would be foolish to make public statements on this

Going by their recent ones I'm inclined to agree with that one.

Get where Stevie is coming from but not sure it can happen.
We're now all arguing about why rangers aren't releasing information.....it's missing the point a bit.
The issues are...what happened in the first place, why was it allowed to escalate and why has it been handled like this?

I'm really struggling to understand what Barton could have done that merits such a serious suspension but isn't quite serious enough for a dismissal.

The only answer i can see is that it wasn't actually that 'serious' at all and rangers just don't want to disclose what happened, as they would eventually need to do if they sack him.

It's plain and simple. You cannot discuss ongoing disciplinary matters. This is an ongoing process with any outcome not finalised.

No one knows the charges.

No one knows how the internal disciplinary procedures work at Rangers.

It's clear it's more than one thing he's being disciplined for, which is one of the reasons it's taking so long with further suspensions and further matters muddying the waters like his betting charge.

As frustrating and costly as it is there's nothing anyone can do but speculate.

I highly suspect his gambling hearing will have a huge bearing on the outcome , it's no coincidence that they are waiting on that, he asked the SFA for more time so rangers are having more time, just my opinion

It's definitely got to have a bearing on things, otherwise I'm sure the whole affair would've been done and dusted by now. It's definitely fair to say that Barton has been a complete idiot in his time up here, with one enormous fck up after another. In the process he's made the club a laughing stock. He's a fcking idiot.

"This is an ongoing process"

Its been going on that bloody long, we are in danger of making the SFA look punctual FFS

There is no vendetta against the board here.

The simple facts are, this is an issue the board need to deal with, and I feel they really could be handling it a whole lot better than they have done so far.

The longer this drags on, the more of a distraction and pain in the erchie it becomes for the rest of the players and the manager.

I absolutely have no trust in Dave King or the rest of the board. However they can't do anything that could disrupt the case against this lowlife cretinous cant.

It's clear that he must have done something more than just a simple training ground bust up.

Either way, the sooner this cant is out of our club, the better.

IMO there's a bit in his contract about betting. If he's found guilty in November his contract will have been breached and he,ll be oot .

Of course it's taking too long, but with Barton continually being an erse it's not as simple as one procedure as the charges are stacking up.

It's not as simple as one training ground bust up. Going on the radio when he wasn't supposed to complicated things, then this gambling charge is now hanging over him.

I can only imagine that this would be the last straw which could terminate his contract, but nothing can be done until he is charged.

There is only one guilty party here. Barton has become an HR nightmare, along with all the other negative attributes he's brought to the club.
