Frankly I'm a bit pashed off at saint brendan for his broony comment.

It's insulting to Celtic and to Scottish football.

Of course broony could have got into his pashy Liverpool team.

Too right Armstong can push for a Scotland place.

The only issue is he is now playing regularly.

You need to be scheidt and not playing games for your club to get selected for Scotland

"You need to be scheidt and not playing games for your club to get selected for Scotland"

How come he never got a call up the last couple of seasons then?

Caldwell just got sacked at Wigan. Bring him back Gordon!

I wish Rodgers would think before opening his mouth.

He has been fairly quiet up here until now but he is starting to ramble like he did at Liverpool

I wonder who Brown would have replaced in the midfield of Gerrard, Henderson and Coutinho.....

Henderson, easily

I take it you don't watch football

The headline should have been "One headless chicken backs another" when referring to Rodgers/Brown

I can count on one hand the number of decent games Brown has played in about 5 years outwith this season where he has had another 3/4.

Please explain

Rodgers was never good enough for Liverpool and Brown has never been enough to play in England.

If you say so.

Rodgers took you closer to your first ever premiership title than any other manager and left you with players that are now flying and your Brown comment is that of a football ignoramus.

I think you will find it was Suarez that took Liverpool closer and Rodgers was shown up when he left

I think you will find that most Celtic supporters the last 2/3 seasons were looking for 2 new central midfielders for Celtic so nothing ignorant about my comments

If you are happy with Rodgers/Brown at Celtic then good for you but when he Rodgers makes ridiculous statements about Liverpool then I felt I had to comment

Please don't be suckered in regarding his condescending comments about your club as he did exactly the same at Liverpool and loves the sound of his own voice. He can be extremely cringeworthy at times and I hoped he would have changed since moving up here.

I'm under no illusion about Rodgers, he spouts some amount of pash at times but you do him a disservice to say Suarez was the sole reason he did well, great player though he is, he is only one of 11, you demean the rest of that team by saying it was all about one man. He, along with the stupid transfer commitee, brought Sturridge, coutinho, lallana, can, firmino, mignolet...basically the bones of the current team that's going great guns at the moment.

I get you harbour some bitterness toward Rodgers but its a new day, he's doing great things with us just now.

Broony is a great player and captain, maybe not the most gifted but his heart and passion feeds into the rest of players, to say he would never be good enough to play in England is, imo, the words of some one that never sees him play. We still need a centre mid but not to replace him, to take the burden off him.

You forget just how influential Sterling was for Liverpool that season.. and it was Rodgers who was brave enough to play him week in week out.

Hec

I watch Celtic a lot and always have done as my brother/nephew were season ticket holders before moving to Aus

I also used to go to games when I was younger and my mates come to my house now to watch the games on TV as they don't have Sky?BT

I agree Brown has heart and passion and Celtic for some reason seem a better team with him but for the previous 2 seasons he could hardly pass the ball 5 years and a number of posters have had the same opinion as me

Rodgers did make some decent decisions but some of the players mentioned have flourished under Klopp who were mediocre under Rodgers like Can, Lallana and Firmino.

I also like how Klopp does not pander to Sturridge as Rodgers did when Suarez left

I am happy for Rodgers to be away from Liverpool and if Celtic fans are happy with him then win-win for everybody involved

Rodgers didn't pander to Sturridge when Suarez left.. he couldn't coz Sturridge was injured near enough the entire time

I think you will find Klopp does not take any of Sturridge's nonsense as Rodgers did

I didn't say anything about Sturridge being injured or did you misread that somewhere

As I said to Hec everyone's a winner now with Rodgers away from Liverpool and currently at Celtic so just be happy. I was merely pointing out the nonsense he was spouting about Brown being good enough for Liverpool

Over the last years I would have taken Ki and Wanyama for the Liverpool midfield but definitely not Brown

posted on 29/10/16

Brown wouldn't have been any worse than Lucas or Henderson.

Be honest with yourself as limited as both of them are either of them are much better than Brown

A few Celtic supporters on here were saying recently they would love Lucas at Celtic and look how the fans have gone overboard about Toure who is past his sell by date and was when he joined Liverpool.

comment by Hector (U3606)

I've read Liverpool fans saying they would love Toure to still be at Liverpool right now and I'd take Brown over either Lucas or Henderson.

Oh right a guy who has never played in England over the current England/Liverpool captain and a guy who has played in England sufficiently for 10 yrs...no problem

Toure was finished when he left City. He was a stop gap 4th choice at Liverpoool and only got a game at the end of last season when Sakho was suspended and the other alternative was Skrtel.
