the problem is though, that since the city game we have been such a disappointment, that its hard to believe we have really improved enough from last season to better what we did last year.

I mean that is just such typical spurs. beat city who the media had already elected as champions. not even beat them, smash them to a pulp and totally outclass them, and then back it up with draws against west brom Bournemouth and lesta.

for fack sake its just so frustrating.

Scoring is such a problem at the moment, we were excellent against City but still needed a large slice of luck with both goals.

the top 4 will be made up of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs this season. In what order I have no clue.

But we're still remaining resilient and not losing, which has to count for something.

Aren't most of the games more points dropped than a point won though?

You know what I meant. Off to Pedants' Corner with you.

Hats off for the optimism but I can't help but feel that this article is full of guesswork and what ifs.

Every team could do this.

Lots of teams are missing key players.

You also state that your top players will come good... will they ?

Other teams will have bad spells ... will they? Did Leicester last year? You could have further bad spells.

The concern for Tottenham has to be scoring goals. Jannsen looks a strong player but all your play seems to be infront of the back 4.

Lasr year, you were opening defences up with pace, skill etc.

Perhaps you're right and all the above will fall nicely into place - but the opposite could be true as well.

Well I've seen a lot of Liverpool fans certain that they can only get better too.....and continue to score lots of goals every week for the remainder of the season......
We can all dream

I agree with you. It's nothing more than hope.

Look at Liverpools next 6 league games - very winnable and whilst the target is 18 points, I think it could present our biggest tests so far.

I think that we play well against the big teams or teams that don't park the bus. The next three premier league game should show this. I am not saying that we will win them all but it will hopefully not be painful to watch and we will create decent chances. I think Harry Kane may well be the difference when we play the negative sides. When he replaced Soldado, Spurs started to click and play well after a similar turgid spell. He is intelligent and hard working and links up play very well. Is it a coincidence that our form has dropped of since he has been injured? I don't know but I can't wait to see him back and match fit.

Kane was rubbish before the injury.

Yeh , I know he was last season`s top goalscorer, and the season before that in the top two strikers in the country.

Really, really rubbish.

2 tap ins this season and missed sitters= rubbish. I was talking about this season before the injury. Last 2 seasons don't count for points this season do they so wake up.

How many did he score in the last few matches last season? Last 4 matches were 2 draws and 2 defeats to dross, where was Kane? I will repeat, before the injury THIS SEASON he was rubbish.

Last 4 Spurs games I've attended we've lost.

Sandy, you need a brain scan or your eyes tested if you think Kane was good before this season's injury. Let's hope the rest does him good.

posted on 1/11/16

Judging Kane as rubbish is just brainless, he is quality. Every player can have a dip in form. Even when he is not scoring he is working hard for the team to create something. I hope that he is the one to galvanise our miss-firing team when he comes back. He works well with Alli and I think Son is one we should believe in also. I must admit that I am getting frustrated with Eriksen who is supposed to be our main creative force. He would not be in my first eleven at the moment sadly.

Kane is quality but not at the moment is what I'm saying. I don't know why Poch doesn't play N'Koudou feeding Vince, I'm convinced it would work.

posted on 1/11/16

I liked what I saw of Nkoudou the first time I saw him play but he looked poor against Liverpool. Our whole team didn't turn up that night though. I think him and Winks deserve more respect until we can judge them over several appearances. The same is true of the other younger players, there is some real quality there. The defeat against Liverpool just made me mad. loosing to an average Liverpool side managed by that lunatic Klopp. He is like their cheer leader at times the way he jumps up and down on the touchline. The press go mad for him as well which I don't get. He may well turn out to be a good manager in England but let's wait until he justifies the credit! Liverpool have done nothing yet under Klopp, so why is he getting so many plaudits? Grrrrrrrrrr

How's that optimism going?

posted on 2/11/16

The problem, this season, is the competitiveness of the top 4. 7 teams battling for 4 places. With United's struggles, that's probably down to 6.
..............
Zlatan and co can't keep finishing like an amateur. Spurs in a way are similar to Man Utd as in they can't score goals for the domination in games.
