Townsend didn't perform for ages and isn't good enough. He's hardly pulled up any trees since moving to Palace. Chadli I would've kept, but he wanted to leave.

He's made his way into the England squad.

and he didn't cost us £30m ffs.

Would have 100% kept Chadli. Just shows what a joke Sissoko is for 30 million.

Tbh I'm facking fuming about it, complete shambles of a summer transfer window.

The good news is I think we can recover from this minor blip.

Strange that you went into a CL season with such a small squad.
You seem to have the philosophy that he can play 3 roles, he can play 3 roles, he can play three roles so we don't need 3 or 4 more players.
Sissoko fits that more than Chadli or Townsend.

Trying to get through the season with a pool of 16 outfield players and trying to fill the gaps with kids is very risky

I've always liked townsend and thought he was treated unfairly and rarely given game time.

He's a decent player but 1 dimensional. He will always try to cut in on his left then shoot from the edge of the box. Once defenders worked this out he struggled to influence a game. Great option to come off the bench though.

Townsend is now warming the Palace bench, no problem there.

However Chadli was a mistake and the failure of our summer signings has emphasised this.

Chadders was a gaff.....players that nice goals are priceless.....he may well have converted at least 1 of the draws into a win.😕

If Townsend is 1 dimensional than Sissoko has no dimensions at all

To be honest even if Spurs had kept Chadli and Townsend it would have made no difference to last night`s results. Spurs were losing in the cups with those two in the side anyway.

As I have said before Spurs are great at full strength, but take out just a couple and let the squad players take over and they are gash, been like that for a few seasons now. Not sure what the answer is, but for some reason Spurs squad players very rarely step up to the plate when they are most needed.

hmm maybe true, but ive seen him go wide also and whip in a cross and run at players for england. Something people rarely want to do anymore

Townsend had the worst shots to goal ratios in the PL

However I was sorry to see Nacer leaving.

For some reason i've always liked Chadli as an Arsenal fan. Always thought he had end product but was maybe a tad lazy in helping out the defence.

At least Townsend had technical ability, Sissoko relies solely on kicking and chaising after the ball and hoping to get there first. Sub-par footballer in every aspect.

well townsend is rubbish, but I said at the time and I say it now, selling Chadli was a reckless move.

can never have enough mids who offer goals...

the current crop are offering nothing at all

Give it a rest mate in what way is Townsend better than Lamela? Lamela is miles better than Townsend. Granted Lamela has been s** this season but had a fantastic season before that. Townsend has probably never had a run of good games let alone a season. The guy is awful and I don't even particularly rate Chadli either

posted on 3/11/16

Lamela is a countrymile a better player than both Townsend and Chadli, Chadli scored the odd goal, but he went missing for 90 per cent of games. Townsend is just an awful player, who just about makes the bench at Palace now.
