And what else would be a manager's priority?

Lambert is doing my head in already.

People said that about Saunders, Stale, Jackett and Zenga. I was right with every one of them.

Lambert is just another unsuccessful generic Scottish bore.

When they say "Results are the important thing" they are merely saying "We are going to grind out lots of bore draws and hope to nick the occasional win".

Not with our defence you won't, matey boy.

Are you happy with your new manager

At least he will have final say on transfers.

I hope Lambert will succeed. I enjoyed the experimentation in trying out recent managers, until things went wrong. I think we all get exited by a new appointment.

At least he's admitted that he was speaking drivel in his Villa press conferences. Given that he's acknowledged that I am prepared to wipe the slate clean and give him a chance.

Still doesn't explain exactly why he spouted so much carp.

I was reading yesterday about his time at Villa and halfway through his time there he had taken them to their highest league position in 4 years, but then lack of investment and cost cutting took its toll and to me a bit like Jackett in his third season at our place, I don't think any manager would have succeeded with the hand he was dealt.

I remember Tatter saying that he applies the same rule to all new managers - just expect them to fail from the off and then you are never disappointed when they do.

I do think the appointment of PL feels right but I thought that about WZ too . So I am going to apply "Tatters Law" to this one and hope it is proved wrong.

Lambert's CV looks a lot better than Zenga's did to me Vinnie.

Oh absolutely, DJ. Why Fosun ever appointed a guy who had had 16 jobs in 18 years I will never know. I also agree that I think Lambert was hard done by at Villa and did a much better job than was thought at the time.

Its just that I will apply Tatters Law for now and not get too carried away with what I think, on the whole, looks to be a good appointment.

Although, I have to say, I am already chuffed that Pearson nor Sherwood got the job

“I need to look at them, evaluate what they’ve got and their strengths and weaknesses. I’ll work that out for myself. And we need to start to win.

That bit sounds like a ''I don't care what views Thelwell and Edwards have, I will draw my own conclusions''.

Liked the comment that Lambert will have final say on transfers from Thelwell.

I wouldn't trust Thelwell as far as I could throw Hilary Clinton's drug cabinet.

You do realise that Thelwell was actually saying:

"Mr Lambert will have the final say as to which of Mendes' choices will be chosen"

We are run by corporate politicians who know nothing about and care nothing about football. They are all in it purely for themselves. When Fosun finally cotton on to the fact that Moxey sold them a day dream, they will cut their losses and run.
