Pakistan Down Blunder Tour

Serious questions need to be asked losing from that position. That is also now 5 consecutive test matches we have now lost! and extremely likely to be 6!

I was expecting that to happen. A bit of pressure and we bottle it. This team needs some big changes.

I've said it before that Younis needs to go. Maybe next game he'll make a massive score which will improve his average for the series, which hides how shet he has been throughout the series.

Misbah now also looking like he's done.

Wahab is such an awful bowler. All that pace and aggression but yet can't bowl 2 good delivers on the trot.

Aslam, what is the point of a opener who doesn't look to score runs? Pointless.

Yasir Shah has been awful abroad as well.

First of all you have to look at the selectors. It was well known that Aussies will play 7 left handers. Why did we not pick a off spinner? Unless there is rough outside the left crease then a leg spinner is pointless.

What have they done to Sami Aslam? He was a free flowing stylish batsman but not has been converted into someone who is scared to put bat on ball. He is just not interested in making runs.

Misbah is finished. He will well to last the English summer but he's getting older. How many 43 years old have played high level test cricket? None. The team needs to move on ASAP.

TLLL,

The most disappointing this that sets this tour apart from the rest is that we've batted 4 times - scoring 400+ twice and then under 200 twice - inconsistency is shocking.. all it needed was YK or misbah between them to stay at the crease for half an hour and we're not losing either of those game. Them two are single handedly to blame

Also, bit harsh on yasir.. hasn't bowled well at all but some of the field placement from misbah was senseless.. let's judge yasir after 3/4 away tours. Let's also remember some "great" spinners in the past have struggled in aus;

Murli- avg 74
Swann - avg 52
Ashwin - avg 50
Vetorri - avg 45

Only kumble and mushy have done reasonable well in aus conditions from away teams.

Perhaps India and Pakistan could arrange their tours at the Same time to save this bashing each other. When paks lose India have a dig and vice versa. When do India next play away?

I have always said before, i don't think spinners can be effective on pitches that don't have much. Even on occasions where spinners have picked plenty of wickets in away conditions, the pitch had something on offer. Spinners tend to get a lot of flak when they fail in away conditions but when world class pacers can't pick a wicket in the subcontinent no one mentions that.

Morning all

Aus wins toss and elect to bat. Showers predicted over the next few days, so we might see a distrupted match.

Aus picked two spinners at the expense of Jackson Bird, with a view to the visit to India and going for 3-0.

After a long tour do Pak care or would the rather be on their way home?

Warner already taking the bowling apart

Remarkable innings, a hundred in the first session of a test match, a man in a hurry

Haha this game is already over.

A slower session after Warners dismissal, but Aus would take 2/223 at tea. I think they will look to press on after the break, should be a few shots played and maybe a few more wickets if the Pak bowlers stick at it.

That was one hell of a flat track. We will still lose the test due to scoreboard pressure but in this series we have seen the flattest tracks in world cricket.

"....in this series we have seen the flattest tracks in world cricket."

C'mon Kash, if the pitches are too green and bouncy, there is criticism. Too much spin, criticism. Bat first, score 440 and lose by an innings, the pitches are too flat.

If the captain could set a field for his bowlers, if the fielders could stop a ball or take a catch....maybe the pitches wouldn't be so flat

Ozzie yes there has been bounce but nothing like the hey day and there has been no sideway movement. We almost chased a world record total in first test. The fact we scored 400 in the 2nd test says it all.

In the SA series the wickets did do a lot more but that was early summer season.

Thats part of the beauty of test cricket, both sides play on the same pitch, but conditions change throughout the game as the pitch wears. The Pak batsmen could only muster 163 in their first effort last match, on the same flat track they did so well on a couple of days later.

I have watched test matches for around 50 years and have never seen an innings start the way Warner did today. The trouble with this guy is that we have to take the bad with the good. When he got out cheaply in the Hobart debacle against SA, he copped plenty for going at the bowling the same way he did today. When it comes off, he looks great.

But as the cricket world contemplates the future of the long form of the game, the promise of seeing an inings like that one will bring the crowds through the the gates for years to come.

The Pak players look tired after a long tour, but as professionals, they need to do the basics well to earn their pay.

Getting first and second tests mixed, obviously should say 142 in the first test

Australia have done well again, but Pakistan have been woeful today. Probably with exception of wahab. Just awful.... will do well to avoid a 3-0 defeat now
