Seriously though, as it stands, I think we are lacking players in the positions of Carter Vickers, Winks, Onomah, Nkoudou and Janssen.
We have chosen this path rightly or wrongly so it would be silly to replace any of them in the squad with anyone long term. Hopefully a blossoming will appear this season and we stay relatively injury free.
Serious competition for Rose and Walker is pretty high priority for me.

Completely disagree with lacking in the CB position
First choice - Toby & Verts
Second choice - Dier & Wimmer
Third Choice - CCV & Davies
Def lacking a decent striking opinion ( although I think Janssen will come good )
100% agree we need better FB back ups as for me trippier is useless and Davies doesn't work ( unless as a 3rd CB in a 3
I wouldn't mind a senior pro who wont necessarily play all the time but would be good around the dressing room. our mentality is STILL lacking.
Michael carrick is the kind of player I am talking about

Joey Barton going spare again now
Pretty obvious we struggle mostly with unlocking defences, so a creative midfielder. Ideally one who can dribble because in Eriksen and Lamela we already have creative players who lack that 'spark' that often come from players with good dribbling ability eg Hazard, Mahrez, Payet, etc...
Isco would be perfect

A senior pro after 20 games a season wouldn't be a bad shout. If they were the alternative to Dembele then even better.
That midfield spark and invention though, serious flaw in our attacking play. A clear lack of variety or flair in our play. Slick passing, one-twos, dinks over the defensive line for someone to run through the lines etc. I find it odd that we don't possess that or that our players lack the understating of each other's games to produce this. I'm obviously not a professional footballer but at the same time I don't train with the same people 3-4 times a week. When I play with certain people I know exactly what their movements are like and vice versa, yet I don't see much of this with Eriksen and co.

It is where I differ. I do not want Dier as the 3rd/4th centreback.
I would have signed a stopgap in the Summer for that role, and kept CCV back a year.
As it is I would not sign anyone though, as we have taken this road now
Other than Soldado and Alderweireld I am struggling to think of senior players we have signed in recent years that were ready (or in Soldado's case looked ready) to shine straight away.
I am all for the policy of signing highly promising young players and bringing through youngsters but surely we need to mix in a few experienced heads and not be forever years away from our team maturing?

IMO you need a fast winger and a better striker than Jansen. If Jansen could score goals the absence of Kane would have less impact and you'd have a real option upfront.
Pace is essential in the PL especially in the wings where IMO you need at least one wing to be plied by a pacy player. Lamela and Eriksen are good players but not having a Mane for example makes you less potent going forward and it shows.
Spurs have quality but not enough pace in attacking areas. Even Kane isn't the fastest.

NKodou should be used far more than he currently is being used, imo.
pacey tricky and direct, even if he is a bit raw
All that's lacking from our team is a good mid range passer in the midfield. Need to isolate opposition full backs with our forwards. For this we need someone that sees a pass early.
The rest of the quad I am happy with. I would loan or sell Carroll and get a creative passing CM. Not many around within our budget. Dahoud?

Don't really trust us scouting for creative players. We haven't got a faacking clue.
Am sure if we were offered Messi we will probably turn him down for being short, cant tackle and cant play at Stoke on a cold, wet and windy Tuesday night.

didn't we score one of the most goals last season though? unless you are suggesting that we scored loads of goals without creating anything then your comment, by default, has to be a mile wide of the mark.
I think its more a case of all our attacking players simply being out of form at the same time, this season, but I concede that most of our rivals have better quality attacking talent than us (but lower quality defensive talent)
