He did score in big finals and when it matters.
And everyone has acknowledged that
But Wahllys statement about why he didn't score more PL goals doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
No he wasn't a prolific goal scorer. But when in mood he would terrorise any defense.
Remember the thesis we are discussing :
"A very good striker with a big game mentality but falls short compared to other top strikers."
That he wasn't a prolific scorer is probably what the author of the original quote saw as his shortfall compared to other top strikers. At the top there are fine margins - and a lot of opinion - and a good case can be made for and against the original statement.

So why am I he only one who's made a case against the original statement!?!
Because you are the only one who disagrees with it
TCP and Kings Head also spoke of Drogba's qualities that they felt went against the statement, and a few earlier.
How was Drogba not a top striker? Still don't get it
The statement says he IS a top striker - but falls short of other "top strikers".
For me if Drogba falls short to other top strikers that's saying he's not a top striker
The word "other" means he has grouped Drogba in with top strikers. If he had said "falls short of top strikers" then he wouldn't have been calling Drogba a top striker
Well no, it could mean he's saying there's level of top striker that Drogba isn't at. Which I think is wrong becuase i'd put Drogba on the same level as Henry, Shearer and probably that's it as far as the pl goes as the highest level of striker.
