Sturridge is frankly not the player he was but is still very very good on his day.
His injury record is atrocious.
that said... january would be a silly time to move him. it should be noted his contract runs to 2019 on 120k per year so.... with a semi final of the league cup to come (hopefully) and a chance to be in the titel race... well he'd be mad to jump at those two clubs
So i fancy this will be sorted in the summer and we will have another low net spend

I'd expect more than the quoted 28m though as he does the hardest part ie scores goals

With mane off to Africa there is 0 chance this will happen in January as reported.
Expect sturridge through the middle with Bobby out wide.

Wouldn't completely rule it out, we aren't banned from signing players ourselves in january are we? So we could replace him, we signed him and coutinho in january too so maybe Klopp has his eye on 1 or 2 ready if they become available for a good price.
That said i think he can still be crucial for us over the season and probably won't.

He won't be going anywhere in the summer either unless we sign another striker or don't get top 4. If we do get top 4 then he will get a lot of minutes next season and he won't want to leave for a club without CL football.

The only reason he isn't getting in the team is due to Firmino's good form up top!
How can anyone justify hating a person who plays football? Yes, if he's an out and out thug, out more to cripple an opponent than win the ball, perhaps. Yellow and red cards follow their career, and they fade into the past.
But to hate anyone? Such as Sturridge? He's a professional footballer at the top of his game, playing foer a top club. Prior to the emergence of Firmino under Jurgen's coaching he was the top man; now he isn't.
He hasn't gone live and asked for a transfer, he hasn't sulked like a big tart. When he gets the chance, such as last Friday, he shows he's still right up there.
I for one would be very surprised if he is still not with us next season, esp if we crack it into the CL
