Just one of those days. A point against Soton away is hardly a disaster, just frustrating to watch us miss good chances. Firminho's miss was the worst.

Our keeper didn't have a single save to make. We looked tired especially Coutinho but I think almost every player had a chance to score. Southampton especially Bertrand and Foster were time wasting from the first minute. That was part of their plan.

Maybe but a win today puts big pressure on team to play catch up and pressure results in you normally taking your eye off the ball. We can't let City or Chelsea get into their stride

seriously at least now we didn't give away a break away a goal or a set piece away that led to a goal. good progress being made.

Still can't believe we didn't score. This was probably our most dominat performance at Southampton in recent years even more than the 6-1 win in the LC and the 3-0 when Suarez was playing.

We'd have lost that in previous seasons by making a silly error at the back.

Now we look solid.

Not lost a game since Matip came in and in truth haven't looked like losing one either.

Matip is a Rolls Royce of a player

Disapointing we didnt win the good thing is that we didnt lose and a clean sheet but finishing was off today. Played well we just need to continue the good form. Matip was excellent .

Yep Matip looks a great signing and I said on the match thread, when clubs are spending £30m+ on CB's he's a gem!

Matip is a massive improvement in our defence. He is a beast in the air, reads the game well and has the pace to deal with pacy strikers.

Matip may end up being our signing of the season despite Mane having been excellent for us. Matip has looked very comfortable against most of the top or decent sides. We have Klopp to thank for Matip. It looks like Sakho will get sold in Jan or the Summer and hopefully we will be able to get a quality replacement perhaps somebody like Virgil Van Dijk.

Can't wait to play the big teams at Annfield. Confidence should be high. Arsenal crap team are getting undeserved points. Spurs can't win at the moment. United not going to challenge. City can't play against high pressing teams. Chelsea in good form bit won't last. We have been the most consistent team. I'm confident.

Confiednce is good but theres a long way to go we been here before especially what happened in 2014. Studge and origi should of been brought on sooner.

What i like bout Matip is he brings the ball forward to push the team further up. Hendo needs to do more forward balls not sideways but part from that good team performance just was missing the goal. Gigi was a bit off today but understandable first game in a while. But what im loving from this Klopp side is that they dont rest no matter what the score is they are hunting for goals non stop.

He is player who is good but not better than Matip. He did well today because Southampton played very deep.

Who cares about Netherlands? We're talking about a player who was in team of the season and team of europe last season and was the second best cd in europe statistically. And this season he has improved even more, showing his leadership qualities. He is the complete defender that is both good in defending aswell as good with the ball and exceptional in the air.

You clearly haven't seen much of virgil van dijk.. The fact that makes him so great is his individual performances. Today he was merely showcasing his usual normal standard.

Van Dijk is good but nearly cost his team the game today.

If the ref spots his pull on Firmino he's sent off.

He got away with it, but it was incredibly risky.

You need to get better glasses..

The pull was outside of the box and the pull wasn't of a magnitude that would merit a penalty. Great tunnelvision on your part though. I'm sure you also missed the great block when Mane was about to pull the trigger or his general excellent game against Liverpool. This is exactly why Virgil is underrated and why there are articles about how underrated he is. Bottomline, Virgil van Dijk is the best cb in the league. No arguments..
