Another one?

posted on 8/9/11

when was the ibrox disaster? I remember last year there was a service sort of thing before the jan 2nd game. Was it closer to that date?

posted on 8/9/11

wasnt it on january 1971?

C'mon ffs. Its almost 50 years to the day that 2 fans died inside their stadium. If it was the 50 years anniversary of Celtic fans dying inside Celtic Park then I would expect a minutes silence, but we'd probably do a minutes applause.

CelticDavie yo are a lone voice of sanity hear. Do you really think it has anythin to do with Celtic fans? Grow up.

CelticDavie i agree. I was just asking when it actually happened as there was a service on last years new year game. I'm too young to remember the disaster.

lol here. Mobile phone Lolz I'll use this to express more disgust at the op.

Baaders

im not saying a silence is not merited, but if its not the date of the anniversary of the disaster then why the hell would you have it on an old firm day?

is it any wonder there is so much hatred between rangers and celtic with cretins like yourself attaching themselves to both clubs

It's our club, our fans who died and we will choose how we respect our dead. If you don't like you can fluck off.

this is just ridiculous. Why hasn't this been removed? Admin!

but we'd probably do a minutes applause.

it's the closest game to it.

Aye Andy, it was a different one, 10 years before. I wasnt getting on at you. They are both well before my time too.

Keny - it happened on 16th September 1961, it is the closest game to the date.

OP yer a f£ckin muppet, a sc^mbag and not worthy of the club you claim to support.

These two guys died at a football game - A FOOTBALL GAME, on Sept 16th 1961

You don't like it - don't go. It's our stadium and we WILL honour those.

To the decent Cletic fans - well done on your comments.

baader,

i say leave it and let every1 see how much of a trumpet the OP is

the biggest one was the 1971 one

the 1961 sept 16 is when 2 fans died.

think people thought it was the 1971 disaster and wondering why it was in september and not january.

when you hear ibrox disaster, you think of the big one.

posted on 8/9/11

I know keny, but if 2 fans died inside our stadium (has that ever actually happened btw?) then I would fully expect our club to honour them on the 50 year anniversary.

posted on 8/9/11

Keny - agreed, but the OP saying that this is being done to try to show Celtic fans in a bad light????

Keny - igonarance/ stupidity does not excuse the OP's bitterness

So your sure that if the game on the 18th were to be against ... say...Kilmarnock...this would be happening. I very much doubt it.

As per your club will set it up, the press will work everyone into a frenzy with it....and as usual the Celtic support will be quiet to your fans and Club's disappointment.

Bill Leckie will be listening out for the coughs again.

agreed, particularly as he knew it was an anniversary, i was thinkin more along the lines of january and thinking wtf it was happening in september for.

even if i dont agree with something, i hold the minute silence, because 1) im not a pure dikc. and 2) other people who do want to should be allowed to.

posted on 8/9/11

if ever there was an argument as to why people with brain injuries should not be allowed access to the internet this it right here.

this has NOTHING to do with CELTIC or the OF game. Rnagers would hold there silence no matter who the opposition were
