This is not a fun game. We're disjointed and the ref is crap.

We've allowed it to settle into a conquest by being way too cautious

this is what you want for experience for the young lads though. Steamrolling a team who just go to pieces doesn't teach them anything

We'll take that

We've done ok, created a few good openings but final ball has been poor. Pressed well though, keep them pinned in like we have it will tell eventually.

Hopefully Klopp sorts them out HT team talk, unlikely Leeds can keep up this energy too.

i think the young ones have done well, its the more experienced players imo

This collection of Liverpool players are definitely suffering from not having played together much.
Which is great for leeds

The fact they're playing is experience.

No excuse for all the sloppy play.

Stewart has been neat but always chosen the easy/safe ball.

I'd like to see a bit more adventure from a Liverpool youth team.

We need to ask more of Leeds, drill in a cross or a decent shot etc don't think we've done either really. Wijnaldum improvised effort forced a decent save. Get more players in their box and put it in.

Just need to move the ball quicker out wide. Leeds setting up well and compact in the middle. Everytime we go out wide we are making dangerous plays. Not once did Moreno try to go outside and cross the ball in. Always cutting inside. Good intense game. Leeds fans making good noise too. Mane, Wijnaldum probably their worst half for us since joining

Moreno seems to make simple 2 yard passes look difficult

Need to move the ball a bit quicker.

Some good things but not sharp enough in the final 3rd.

Too many touches and not enough shots at goal.

They haven't threatened either though and we look the more likely. Score and we should be fine.

Something im noticing is our midfielders pile in the box when its on the counter and we outnumber teams at times, but when teams sit back in numbers in their own box none of our lot want to go join them and force them to be alert and aware, everythings infront of them and its easy to defend for teams like that.

Surprised Spurs didn't take this competition more seriously, only trophy they've won in over 20 years.

too much faffing at the back into mf then back again. Need the mf to go FORWARD...i reckon klopp will push everyone 10 yards further forward.

This is spot on. We are so static when there is a wall in front of us. It makes it easy for teams to put up the 2 banks of 4.

This is the first game for us this season where we have not created anything in an entire half. Firmino and Coutinho missing are one reason but not lsure both were missing in previous cup games. Also Sturridge who usually comes as a good replacement for Firmino is not playing. Mane form could be another reason. But I thing our main strength has been we have been playing as a unit but not tonight. Origi is not a team player. Can is the same. We are missing the creativity of Coutinho Firmino and Sturridge.
