Think Ibra has been a good addition myself, and the younger players seem to value his experience.
With all the talent Rashford has relying on him to be our main striker after a purple patch last year, and that fact he's still only starting out in the game, would be terribly naive and would be a heavy burden on his young shoulders.
(Could've done with Ibra against Arsenal. Was a heavy loss in that game in him picking up a second yellow before that fixture.)
Martial, well it's a combination of things. It easy to blame it all on Jose as the manager hasn't the greatest history in developing youth but, again,it'll be ignorant to put all the blame on him.Martial, after finishing the season relatively strongly, hardly shone at the Euro's under Deschamps, who had doubts about his awareness and movement off the ball in-comparison to Payet and Coman who was used frequently as the go to option after Martial failed to stake his claim in the appearances he was afforded.
Another factor would be Martial's private life seeming to be one big soap opera and only now seems to be settling down somewhat.
Concerning Jose.Well it's known fact he prefers dealing with players with greater experience. The fans knew that and more importantly the club knew that too before hiring him.
There's nothing wrong with that outlook as it's done him good in the past, that outlook being that players breaking into the game would be better served in developing their skills under less pressured circumstances. In a nutshell Jose feels the top clubs should largely have players in peak standard for fighting for honors while the younger should be plying their trade in a lower league club for game-time and experience. But as mentioned we knew that with Jose so the blame cant be totally thrown at his feet.
Also I may add that there is a strong naivety among football fans that developing young players is a rather comfortable and easy challenge.Speaking in experience of listening to a few youth coaches at my local club would dispel those opinions rather quickly. Its tough work, even more so at a club that will largely get most of the media attention in the country in that particular sport. As we're seeing now with the slight melodrama revolving Rashford, and a lessor extent with Martial.
Now dont get me wrong I would very much like to see the likes of Rashford,in his more accustomed forward role,Martial,Mensah and the like get a good amount of game-time time but I'm also not so closed minded to take into account that, whether fans like it or not,the more experienced players sitting on the bench are largely on big fat wages, more so the the young players, and if I was a club owner (one day.One day) I'll be more inclined to question why my top earners aren't getting game time or are a option from the bench.
Money has to come in as a factor especially at United who have thrown money around in the past few seasons on some, frankly, dross individuals who I hope we'll finally start to see being let off the hook in the upcoming January window. But,as mentioned, they are most likely on very handsome wages.
Getting rid of someone like Bastien for example will and has been very hard work for the club and that will be applied to a few others at the club too no doubt.
Basically what I'm saying is there is factors. It's rarely ever simple, especially at United.

In Stones, Sterling, Sane and Iheanacho City have four of the best young players in their position in world football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 players that cost almost £150M between them and have yet to win anything in their careers. Hardly the blueprint to a successful youth policy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I can only assume that the orginal comment was just a joke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? They do or do you not rate them?

I would have thought Barca was the clear answer? Lots of their squad is from La Masia and they consistently win trophies
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye, I think they fielded an all La Masia eleven a couple years ago, away at Rayo. I do think it's harder to do it the PL though, plenty of opportunity to give young players a chance when you're so dominant in La Liga, that's the impression I get from it anyway.
Personally, I love it when young players come through and have been disappointed when our promising players have left, Will Keane, Ravel, even Phil Bardsley and Danny Simpson looked promising when they turned out for the first team.
Even if they're not going to be first team starters, it's worth giving youngsters a chance, they probably give some sort of sh*t about the club, the fans love seeing them in the team, and you save a fortune on buying squad players.

Rashford should be starting over ibra, he's been poor.
Fosu mensah should be given a crack alongside pogba because everyone else bar Herrera has been useless there for you.
Valencia has been solid and deserves to keep his spot at right back.
Martial would benefit more from having rashfords pace through the middle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, Ibra has not been poor.
Secondly, Herrera has not played alongside Pogba in the main; he has played in the DM role in a 4-1-2-3.
Thirdly, Carrick, like Herrera, has also been excellent in that role this season.
Finally, TFM is not a defensive midfielder.
Barcelona always have young players in their squad, often from their academy too.
Barca win this argument. Southampton also bring through their youth rather well while still being a midtable team.
Depends how far back you want to go, though. Sergi Roberto playing out of position at right baxk is the only first team player Barca have produced for a few years. And he'll be benched or sold once they bring in a good right back. They'll always use academy players as squad fillers but they're a good example of how hard it is when at the top to integrate youngsters into the first team. They have to be good enough, in their case they haven't been which is why they've either bought or played players out of position to cover certaij areas of the squad.
