There's a good mix of that song and Michael McDonald singing his part of the original song on YouTube

That is the "Jamming remix" off the single, which also included 2Pac songs Pain and Loyal to the Game from the Above The Rim soundtrack

Kanye West
RZA
GZA
Inspectah Deck
Ghostface Killah
Raekwon

Lupe Fiasco

Still missing out consistent and witty lyricists like T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, (one of the best wordplay and similie rapper OAT), Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Cam'ron and Juelz Santana.

My favorite songs of the last few years are..

King Kunta - Kendrick Lamar
Forever - Drake
Rap God - Eminem (insane technique)

Grew up as a wee kid with Eminem as my favorite artiste. The pop culture satire was funny. Think the genre peaked in the 90's when it had more socially conscious roots. The vulgar exhibitionism of many acts in more recent times bragging about their "blings" and cadillacs and sheite would eventually put me off.

Forever will always be a great song to me because it has Ye, Wayne both near the peak of their popularity and quality, and I have to admit Em comes through with a show stopping verse. I personally love Drake but for what he is and he isn't the strongest MC but he can lay down a hard verse when he wants to. He has gone down the pop route a lot recently however.

The "blings" and cadillacs and sheite were there in the 90s as well.

No doubt, but his work on "Compton" and parts of "Venice and "Malibu" is pure hip hop still.... just not rap.

He's not hip hop...but the influence is in his music....sort of like The Weeknd.

Hip hop and R&B will always have close links.

For such an idiot, Kanye Wests music is pretty awesome.

posted on 30/11/16

Kanye's true genius is in his production, much like Dre.

It is a shame the he is a diick in public, as it puts some people off giving his music a chance. Even non hiphop fans could enjoy alot of it.

"Miss Right" on Venice is almost undefinable... funk, soul, hiphop, r&b, rock, dance... all in one groove.

btw - new album from tribe called quest has some good tracks...

some of it is too hard and east coast for me... but still some magic there.

Also, my angry teenage self wants to give a shout out to Onyx!

My favourite song on Venice has to be "Might Be", with "Miss Right" coming in at 2nd. It's a beautiful album.
